Mona Singh, a well-known television and film actor, has recently clocked two decades in the industry. The industry is full of ups and downs, with uncertainty clouding every project. But Mona's 20-year journey reflects her success as an actor. Mona came into the spotlight with the superhit TV show, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin and never looked back. She is grateful to the industry and expressed gratitude in an interview with PTI.
Mona Singh played versatile roles in TV shows and films. Now, with the advent of OTT, she enjoys playing new characters. She had three major OTT releases in 2023, which made her celebration of two decades 'extra special.' For the unversed, Mona was featured in Prime Video's Made in Heaven (season two), Kaala Paani on Netflix, and SonyLIV's Kafas. Her roles in the web series got a positive response from the critics. She was quoted as saying:

"The next step is always forward, the past is gone. You can't change it, you can celebrate it because of the choices that you have made. I'm very happy these 20 years in this industry have been so fruitful. The industry has been so giving and accepting. I love the fact I am still around and I'm now exploring OTT and films.”

Mona Singh debuted on television with an iconic and superhit soap opera, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. She became popular by playing the role of a sincere and intelligent girl, ‘Jasmeet Walia.’ The show aired for three consecutive years and made her a household name. At the same time, she won many accolades at award functions and made a stronghold on the television medium. Recalling her experience, she said:
"It was not like she transformed into a new person overnight. It was well shot. The fringes went away, she got the lenses then the braces went away. So it was gradual. I was also very nervous about my makeover. My first show was 'Jassi...' and I got to face the camera as 'Jassi' which was in garb. So I was feeling somewhere very protected.”
Apart from her success on TV, Mona appeared in films after six years of her TV debut. Her most popular movies include 3 Idiots and Laal Singh Chaddha with Aamir Khan. Laal Singh Chaddha was an official Hindi adaptation of the 1994 Hollywood hit, Forrest Gump. She revealed that she was happy to get to work on two films with Aamir Khan because he is known to be selective about his work. As a result, she feels lucky to work with him. Moreover, Mona says that their bond only deepened while working on the film.

Mona Singh is a well-known actress who featured in popular films like 3 Idiots, Ek Chup, and Laal Singh Chaddha. On the other hand, she was a part of television shows like Kavach...Kaali Shaktiyon Se, Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi, Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do, Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar and Mauka-E-Vardaat. Mona Singh's new horror comedy film, Munjya, will be released in theatres on June 7, 2024, co-starring Sharvari Wagh.
