Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is one of the most popular sitcoms which has been dominating all the headlines lately. There have been a lot of accusations against the show's producer, Asit Modi. The controversies about the show started hitting the headlines soon after one of the lead actors of the show, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala accused Asit Modi of sexual harassment. After that, other actors, such as Priya Ahuja and Monika Bhadoriya, also made some shocking revelations about the show. The same happened again when Monika Bhadoriya, who used to play the role of 'Bawri' on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, recently called the show's environment to be male-chauvinist.
In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Monika Bhadoriya talked about the negative environment on the set of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Talking about the same, she revealed that the environment on the set was nothing but male-chauvinist. Elaborating on the same, Monika Bhadoriya mentioned:
"Yes, the environment on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah sets has been male-chauvinistic. If I talk about it, a lot of people from Taarak Mehta will call me and tell me why did I talk about it."

Further in the interview, Monika Bhadoriya shared that not only on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, but she has seen such a male-chauvinist atmosphere in many places in the industry. The actress then mentioned how female actors are often paid less than male actors and get an early call on the set compared to male actors. Spilling the beans about the negative atmosphere, Monika stated:
"But yes, it's there, they support male chauvinistic environment. It is not only on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah set, I have seen it at many places and it happens in the industry that female artists don't get good payment compared to their male co-actors. Sometimes female artists are called earlier on the sets, and male artists are called on time. So it happens a lot."

Talking about the atmosphere of the popular sitcom, Monika then revealed several aspects that could not be compromised on the show. She added that, even if some people on the set were to compromise on certain things, the 'male-chauvinist' atmosphere was way too much that it would become hard for anyone to compromise. Sharing the details about the same, Monika Bhadoriya mentioned:

"On the sets of Taarak Mehta, there are numerous aspects that one cannot compromise on. Even if one is ok to compromise on certain things, the male chauvinistic atmosphere on the sets is too much that it is hard for anyone to compromise."

Earlier, in an interview with News 18, Monika Bhadoriya had opened up about the ill-treatment the female actors received on the sets of Asit Modi's show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Reflecting on the same, the actress revealed that on the sets, the male actors do shots first, and the female actors are asked to stay back even if they are done with their shots. In the same interview, the actress shared that the female actors received less payment than the male actors. She also revealed that female actors were abused on the sets of TMKOC. Monika Bhadoriya claimed that:
"Males are paid more. They pay us very less in comparison to male actors even if the screen time for both actors is same. They abuse females there. What else can you expect? I can never tell you what all they say. I can never use such dirty language."
