Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, one of the most popular TV sitcoms, has been all over the news, owing to the accusations against the show's producer, Asit Modi. It all started when the show's lead actor, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala, accused Asit of sexual harassment. And now, Monika Bhadoriya also made some shocking revelations about the show.
Monika Bhadoriya, who used to play the role of 'Bawri' on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma, recently opened up about the toxic work culture they faced on the sets. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she also called out the makers over her pending dues and shared how everyone's behaviour on the sets had left her so upset that she lost her will to work for the show. Monika added:
"I had a dream to bring my parents on the sets of my show, but after seeing the atmosphere on the sets, I decided that I would never ask my parents to come on the sets."

Monika Bhadoriya had gone through a tough phase in her life, and she suffered a lot of family tragedies. In the same interview, the actress recalled those dark times and revealed that her mother was battling cancer. Calling her mother and grandmother the pillars of her life, Monika shared that she was unable to deal with their loss and thought that her life was over. In her words:
“I went through a lot of family tragedies. I lost my mother and grandmother, both within a very short period of time. They both were pillars of my life, they raised me so well. I was not able to deal with their loss, and I thought my life was over.”
Recalling the same phase, Monika Bhadoriya shared that at that time, she was working for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and it was very torturing for her. She was so saddened by the toxic comments that she started having suicidal thoughts. Sharing the details, the actress mentioned that the TMKOC makers made hurtful comments about her late father and mother. In her words:
“During this time, I was working for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which was also very torturing. So all this torture and thoughts made me feel that I should commit suicide. They (TMKOC makers) said, ‘Her father died, and we gave the money. We gave the money to treat her ill mother.’ These words had hurt me deeply.”

She also suffered a lot, but couldn't share her grievances with the public as she was made to sign a contract. Monika accused the makers of shutting her down and mentioned that she preferred self-respect over money and quit the show. She said:
"But when my mother was ill and was in her last days, I thought I should bring her to the sets and show her where I work, but that remained impossible. There are a lot of people, who are working for money. Money is important but not more than self-respect."
