Losing a loved one is very painful and what makes it more difficult is the fact that you won't be able to see that person again. Actress, Mandira Bedi is going through this difficult phase in her life as she has to deal with the fact that she won't be able to see her husband, Raj Kaushal, anymore.

The morning of June 30, 2021, had come as a curse for Mandira Bedi and her kids, Vir Kaushal and Tara Bedi Kaushal. Mandira and her filmmaker husband, Raj Kaushal, were happily married for 22 years and were proud parents to Vir and Tara. While working on a few projects in the initial days of their career, the duo had fallen for each other, but as they say, we all are puppets of fate, and the morning of June 30, 2021, came as a shock for the Bedi-Kaushal family. It was heartbreaking to see Mandira cry inconsolably while performing Raj's last rites.
Raj Kaushal was 49 years old when he had breathed his last, and his demise at such an early age due to cardiac arrest is really unfortunate. A few days after Raj Kaushal's death, on July 3, 2021, a prayer meeting has been held by his family in his memory. Actress, Mandira Bedi's friends, Mouni Roy, Vidya Malwade, her parents and her kids, Vir Kaushal and Tara Bedi Kaushal, paid their last tribute to the filmmaker, late Raj Kaushal, at their home in Mumbai.

Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal's common friend, Rohit Bose Roy, had taken to his IG handle to bid farewell to his late friend and had penned an emotional note. He had written, "One of the nicest guys you could ever have met… and if u were lucky, u could have called him your friend… and just like that, he’s gone, even without saying good bye. too numb with grief and shock to react… This is not fair, just not fair… Raj, my friend, my brother… keep spreading the cheer where ever your next abode is… Knowing your penchant for good homes, I am sure you are looking for a good spot in heaven RIGHT NOW! We all loved you dearly and you know that … unfortunately, we kept saying next week next week and that week never came See you on the other side my bro…. Till we raise hell again, REST IN PEACE @rajkaushal."

In an interview with The Times Of India, Raj Kaushal's friend, Sulaiman Merchant, had talked about the incident of the late filmmaker's cardiac arrest and had said, "Mandira acted swiftly and called Ashish Chaudhary, who rushed to their place. Mandira and Ashish put him in the car, but he was losing consciousness. I think they drove off, taking him to the Lilavati Hospital, if I'm not wrong. But in the next 5-10 minutes, they realised that he had no pulse. Before they reached the doctor, it was too late."

On the work front, Raj Kaushal had directed movies like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and Shaadi Ka Laddoo.
