Former Indian international cricketer, Suresh Raina broke the hearts of millions of his fans after he hung up his gloves and pads finally on September 6, 2022. The cricketer, who had retired from International cricket back on August 15, 2020, once again left everyone in tears after he bid farewell to Indian cricket. However, the cricketer will reportedly be seen playing in the upcoming Road Safety World Series, supported and conducted by the help of different ministries under the Government of India.
From Twitter to Instagram, all the news headlines belong to Mr. IPL, who is no longer going to play in IPL (Indian Premier League) and any other format of domestic cricket. However, if reports are to be believed, there are chances that Suresh Raina might explore the opportunities to play cricket in lesser-competitive T20 leagues in UAE and South Africa. But at the moment, the cricketer hasn't confirmed anything in the context of the chances of him playing in foreign lands.

Just a few seconds ago, Suresh Raina's wife, Priyanka Raina took to her Instagram handle and shared an emotional note on her hubby's retirement. Calling it a tough decision, Priyanka shared that Suresh is always going to be a star. Priyanka also shared that his contribution is unmatchable. Priyanka penned a heartfelt note, which can be read as:
"Decisions like these don't come easy! I know how much contemplation, emotions and mixed feelings it involved! Your contribution to cricket is unmatchable. No matter what you decide to do next, you are and forever will be a star."
On September 6, 2022, Suresh Raina took to his Twitter handle and announced his retirement from all forms of cricket, and his tweet went live at 12:18 p.m. on the micro-blogging site, breaking the internet in split seconds. As of now, Suresh Raina's retirement tweet has more than 14,000 retweets and 84,000 likes. In his tweet, Suresh Raina thanked BCCI (The Board of Control for Cricket in India) and his massive fanbase, who had his back all these years. The cricketer's emotional tweet can be read as:
"It has been an absolute honour to represent my country & state UP. I would like to announce my retirement from all formats of Cricket. I would like to thank @BCCI, @UPCACricket, @ChennaiIPL, @ShuklaRajiv, sir & all my fans for their support and unwavering faith in my abilities."

After announcing his retirement on Twitter, Suresh Raina opened up about his decision in a conversation with Dainik Jagran. Sharing his future plans, the cricketer admitted that he would continue to play the game for the next two-three years, which is indeed a piece of good news for the fans of this incredible cricketer. Then, reflecting on his retirement, he said:
"I want to continue playing cricket for two or three years. There are some exciting youngsters who are coming through the ranks of Uttar Pradesh cricket. I have already taken my No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA). I have informed BCCI secretary Jay Shah and vice-president Rajiv Shukla about my decision."

For the unversed, back on August 15, 2020, when Suresh Raina had announced his retirement from international cricket, it was his wife, Priyanka Chaudhary, who got a bit emotional and had penned a beautiful note for him on Instagram. The doting wife shared a picture of her husband and had written a few lines in his honour. Her sweet note in the caption of her post could be read as:
"Though I'm still processing this! All I can say is I'm bursting with pride, Immense pride. My heart is just filled with respect & gratitude."
