Around the world, both India and Pakistan are known for their elaborate cuisines. From India’s butter chicken, naan and gulab jamun to Pakistan’s nihari, kadhai and zarda, people from every nook and corner of the globe visit the two countries to relish their wide range of delicacies. Recently, a video went viral on the internet where the former Indian skipper and the much-loved cricketer, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, talked about food.

In the video, MS Dhoni, aka Mahi, can be seen having a casual conversation with an unknown person, who is not visible in the video. The former Indian cricketer was standing in the reception area and appeared to be very happy and relaxed as he struck up a conversation with the person. MSD can be heard saying, “You should go to Pakistan once for the food." The cricketer is known for having a knack for food. The man gives a hilarious reply to Mahi’s suggestion, and the latter bursts into laughter. The man said:

“I'm not going there even if you suggest good food. I love food, but I won't go there."

Netizens’ reaction to MS Dhoni’s remark on Pakistani food

However, MSD was seen further emphasising that Pakistan really has good food. Netizens took to the comment section of the video, which was posted on X (formerly Twitter) and shared their opinion on Mahi’s remarks. Some netizens took the former Indian captain’s light-heartedly and asked him which cities he would suggest for the same. On the other hand, a segment agreed to MSD’s comment. Check out the comments:

Fakhr-e-Alam invited MS Dhoni to his show after the latter’s remarks on Pakistani food

The famous Pakistani sports anchor, Fakhr-e-Alam, extended an invitation to MS Dhoni after he praised Pakistani food in the viral video. Alam, who is well-known for hosting The Pavilion show with Wasim Akram, Shoaib Malik, Moin Khan, and others, warmly invited Dhoni in response to his appreciation for Pakistani food. Fakhr-e-Alam reposted the video on X and invited the former Indian skipper to his popular show, The Pavilion. He captioned his post as:

“Bhai @msdhoni dil jeet liya aap nay….…..I think you should be in The Pavilion with us not just for the cricket but for the FOOD.”

The renowned Pakistani film director, screenwriter, and singer, Nabeel Qureshi also reacted to the viral video of MS Dhoni. The director responded to Fakhr-e-Alam's X post and mentioned that Pakistani indeed have the best hospitality and food in the world. Check out the comment.

MS Dhoni’s professional front

As of now, MS Dhoni underwent knee surgery and is currently undergoing rehabilitation in preparation for the upcoming season of the IPL. According to a recent statement from Kasi Viswanathan, CEO of CSK, Mahi is recovering well and is expected to be fully fit before the 2024 edition of the IPL. Viswanathan added that Dhoni has been undergoing rehab and will soon begin training in the nets.
