Naved Shaikh aka Naezy as he is popularly known as is a famous Indian rapper from Mumbai. He was recently seen in the show, Bigg Boss OTT 3 and survived for 42 days in the house. He rose to prominence with his popular rap song, Mere Gully Mein with fellow rapper, DIVINE. The story of these two talented rappers was the inspiration behind Zoya Akhtar's 2019 film, Gully Boy. Recently, Naezy shared the film's impact on his image and life.

Naezy reveals that Gully Boy made a negative impact on his image

Recently, Naezy sat down for an interview with DNA India and shared his views on the popular film, Gully Boy. The film starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, became a massive box-office success with Rs. 238.16 crore collection. Also, it was India's official entry for Best International Feature Film at the 92nd Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. However, Naezy shared that he didn't get any significant benefit from the film.

Naezy further revealed that he is planning to make his biopic soon. However, he will ensure that the mistakes that happened with Gully Boy won't be repeated. The rapper will keep it accurate and exciting for the audience. In his words:

"Main plan kar raha hoon kuch, aur jo galti Gully Boy mein hui, woh main nahi karunga. Main fictionalised nahi rakhunga, ek dum real, and interesting banaouga."

Naezy shared that Gully Boy altered facts about his life

When Naezy was in the Bigg Boss OTT 3 house, a co-contestant, Poulomi Das, asked the rapper if Gully Boy was inspired by his life. Naezy agreed to it and shared that the film harmed his personal life. He went on to reveal that the makers altered facts about his life. He added that they showcased that he has two girlfriends and was working as a driver. It wasn't true but people believed it and it affected his personal life.

“To usse mere ko ekdum subtle way mein fayda hua aur bahut nuksaan bhi hua. Mere personal life pe ki mere do-do girlfriends dikha di gayi hai. Mujhe gareeb bataya gaya hai, jitna gareeb main tha nahi. Mujhe driver bataya gaya hai kyunki main vo hu nahi. Lekin jo Indian audience ka dimag hai na, sabko aisa lagra ki yahi Naezy bhai hai. To ussey meri personal life pe thoda farak pada.”

Naezy recalled that he was in prison for false charges during the filming of Gully Boy

In another conversation inside the house with Ranvir Shorey, Naezy recalled everything was positive in his life during the initial filming of Gully Boy. However, he disappeared social media and YouTube vanished because he was in prison as certain people were jealous of him. Naezy didn't reveal any specific details. But he continued that those people wanted something from him, and no one knew he was in prison for a year. It gave rise to different rumours that deeply affected him, hampered his life, and he is still fighting for it.
