Known for her glamorous roles, Nargis Fakhri had made her Bollywood debut in Ranbir Kapoor starrer romantic drama, Rockstar. Thereafter, Nargis became a part of some remarkable films, including Madras Cafe, Main Tera Hero, Spy, Azhar, and Housefull 3, among others. Nargis' personal life has always been a hot topic of discussion, but this time around, it is not just any linkup rumour but serious allegations of killing directed towards her sister, Aliya Fakhri.
For those who chipped in late, according to media reports, Nargis Fakhri's 43-year-old sister, Aliya Fakhri, was arrested in Queens, New York. It was reported that she had killed her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacob, in a fit of jealousy. According to reports from The Daily News, Aliya reportedly set a two-storey garage on fire, resulting in the death of her ex-beau, Edward and his female friend, Anastasia 'Star' Ettienne. The report added that Aliya arrived at the property around 6:20 a.m., shouting, "You’re all going to die today," before setting the building ablaze.
After the news came to the forefront, people hounded Nargis and questioned her about what she knew anything about her sister's doing. To this, the actress has finally broken her silence. As per a report from India Today, Nargis said that she has "nothing to clarify" regarding the situation. The actress added that she has had no relationship with her sister for the past two decades and has no idea what she does in her life.
Nargis and Aliya's mother, Marie A. Fakhri, was quick to defend her daughter. She stated that her daughter wasn't the kind of person who would kill someone. In fact, she was caring towards everybody and tried helping them. Further, Aliya's mother revealed that the opioids influenced her behaviour after a dental mishap. Mrs. Fakhri said:
"I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody."
A witness present at the crime scene revealed that they smelled something burning and didn't have any idea whether it was gasoline or something else. When they saw the couch on the stairs had caught fire, they rushed. The District Attorney, Melina Katz revealed that the defendant ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped the victims, who tragically died from inhalation of smoke and thermal injuries.
