Nargis Fakhri rose to immense fame as 'Heer Kaul' in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer, Rockstar. The actress' family has been going through a difficult time, as her sister, Aliya Fakhri, got arrested in New York for reportedly killing her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs and his female friend. Amidst it, their mother sided with her daughter, Aliya.
According to media reports, Nargis Fakhri's 43-year-old sister, Aliya Fakhri, was arrested in Queens, New York. It is reported that she had killed her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacob, in a fit of jealousy. According to The Daily News, Aliya reportedly set a two-storey garage on fire, resulting in the death of her ex-beau, Edward and his female friend, Anastasia 'Star' Ettienne.
The District Attorney, Melina Katz revealed that the defendant ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped the victims, who tragically died form smoke inhalation and thermal injuries. She revealed:
"This defendant maliciously ended the lives of two people by setting a fire that trapped a man and woman in a raging inferno. The victims tragically died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries."
Let us inform you that Nargis has not yet reacted to the news. However, her mother, Marie A. Fakhri, was quick to defend her daughter, Aliya. She stated that her daughter wasn't the kind of person to kill someone. In fact, she was caring towards everybody and tried helping them. Mrs. Fakhri said:
"I don’t think she would be killing someone. She was a person who was caring for everybody. She tried to help everybody."
Further, Aliya's mother revealed that the opioids influenced her behaviour after a dental mishap. A witness present at the crime scene revealed that they smelled something burning and didn't have any idea whether it was gasoline or something else. When they saw the couch on the stairs had caught fire, they rushed.

The witness further added that Aliya and Jacob had an abusive relationship. She would often tell everybody that she would burn his house down and would kill him. However, everyone just laughed at her. Aliya's ex-beau, Jacob's mother revealed that the couple had parted ways a year back, but she continued to pursue him. Jacob worked as a plumber on a property to convert the garage into an apartment, and the girl working with him was his friend, and they were not lovers. She said:
"Jacobs and Ettienne were friends and not lovers."
Nargi Fakhri has not yet reacted to her sister, Aliya's arrest and the shocking claims!
