Nayanthara is one of the most famous and highest-paid actresses in Malayalam cinema and Telugu Films. While her professional life has seen many ups, her personal life has been a rollercoaster ride. Reports of Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara's affair made rounds in 2009. They were working together on the film Villu, which Prabhu Deva directed. However, many people tried to convince Nayanthara not to quit the film industry. Meanwhile, Prabhu Deva's wife, Latha, denied giving him a divorce, which was a huge obstacle in their relationship.

In her documentary, Nayanthara revealed that it was Prabhu Dev who asked her to quit cinema. Referring to Prabhu Deva, Nayanthara shared that she wasn't given any option — she was simply told to leave the cinema, and she agreed.

Further, Nayanthara talked about her past relationship and stated that since she never talked about her past, people wrote their own version of her story, and they were all pretty bad. She added that no one asked anything from the boys, but only she was the one who had to answer all the questions. Nayanthara was quoted as saying:
"Just because I never openly addressed my past, people started writing their own stories. And, all of them were pretty bad. They started assuming the worst. How come none of the boys were asked anything? Why was I the only one questioned? I think I just trusted people very easily."
Nayanthara fell head over heels in love with Vignesh Shivan. The couple tied the knot in June 2022. Later, in the same year, they welcomed their twin boys on October 10, 2022. The couple often shares glimpses of their happily ever after on their Instagram handles. Currently, Nayanthara is trending on the internet as her documentary is going viral.
