In the '90s, when love was a taboo and dating was a big no-no, people used to still fall in love. We have witnessed many great love stories, who started their journey from chup-chup ke milna and ended up tying the knot. But there were many, who's love stories ended on a sad note. And such was the case with Bollywood actress, Neena Gupta, who had fallen for an already married man and West Indies cricket captain, Vivian Richard. Every knew about Neena and Vivian's love affair, which had brewed during a party, where they had first met. Vivian was married at that time and even had two children. But as they say, love is blind, and Neena was madly in love with the cricketer. The two even had a love child, whom Neena raised on her. Yes, we are talking about none other than the ace designer, Masaba Gupta.

Recently, Neena graced the dating web show, Dating These Days, which is hosted by television actress, Rytasha Rathore. During the interaction, Neena opened up on her dating life and shared an ugly fight with her ex-boyfriend. The actress said, "A boyfriend of mine.... We were fighting and he said nastily to me ‘you are still on the shelf!’ I will never forget that! It is horrible. Nobody is waiting to be picked up." Neena further opened up on dating and wedding culture in India and said, "I had this couple friend from Delhi who was staying next door in Mumbai. I had this another male friend. But I never felt like ‘that’ towards him, I liked him. They used to tell me ‘marry this man, he is a very nice man’. They were after me ‘he is such a nice man and a bachelor! He is wealthy and even owns a flat. Just marry him already’. When I said I do not love him or lust him, I was told ‘ just go ahead and marry. Love will also happen’. This is our culture, tradition."
Neena’s personal life has been filled with gloomy days and storms, but despite it all, she maintained her life with dignity. While Neena is considered as an inspiration, she has gone on record to say that she will never advise anyone to become a single mother. In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Neena had revealed the reason behind her thought and had said, “I would not have a child outside marriage. Every child needs both parents. I was always honest with Masaba, so it did not affect our relationship, but I know she suffered.”

In an interview with film critic, Rajeev Masand, Neena had said, "Very much. All the time. I feel it was a very selfish act on my part. Some of my friends told me it won’t be fair on part of the child, but kaun sunnta hai uss waqat, blind hotey hain (who listens at that age, people are blind). I also feel sad because she was lonely.
