The nation is going to witness one of the biggest weddings of the season as the heartthrob of millions, Ranbir Kapoor and the gorgeous actress, Alia Bhatt are soon going to take their wedding vows. On April 13, 2022, Ranbir and Alia's wedding festivities kickstarted with engagement. The entire Kapoor and Bhatt clan had joined the celebrations.
It was on the same day, 43 years back, when Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor had got engaged. Moments before Ranbir and Alia's engagement, Neetu Kapoor had taken to her IG handle and had posted a throwback picture with Rishi Kapoor from their engagement ceremony. In the picture, a young Rishi Kapoor could be seen sliding the engagement ring on Neetu Singh's finger. Along with the picture, Neetu had written:
"Fond memories of baisakhi day as we got engaged 43 years back on 13th April 1979."

Ahead of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's wedding, Neetu Kapoor took to her IG stories and posted a picture of her henna-clad hand. Amid the beautiful henna design on her hand, it was her late husband and veteran actor, Rishi Kapoor's name that melted our hearts. On the index finger, Neetu flaunted Rishi's name, and it was pure love.
In a report by India Today, it was stated that Neetu Kapoor had got emotional at Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's mehendi ceremony and the reason cited was she missed her husband, Rishi Kapoor's presence. A source present at Alia-Ranbir’s mehendi ceremony had revealed that Neetu Kapoor had got teary-eyed during the function as she had recollected the fond memories from her mehendi with Rishi Kapoor.

On April 13, 2022, Ranbir Kapoor's mother, Neetu Kapoor and his sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni were papped as they headed home from the functions. When the photographers had asked Neetu about Alia, she had answered that her soon-to-be bahu is the best. Not just that, Ranbir's sister, Riddhima had revealed that the couple will get married on April 14, 2022, at Vastu.
