Veteran actors, late Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor were one of the most sought-after couples of the 90s. The two had met on the sets of their first film together, Zehreela Insaan in 1974, and soon, had fallen head-over-heels for each other. Neetu and Rishi had got married in a lavish wedding in January 1980, and they had become parents to two kids, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni. Their love story was a rare one, and it had inspired millions of people out there.
However, Rishi Kapoor had left for his heavenly abode on April 30, 2020, due to cancer, and his sudden demise has left a huge void in his wife, Neetu Kapoor's life. The veteran actress is still trying to recover from her massive loss and has shifted her focus towards work to overcome her grief. For the unversed, Neetu had bid adieu to acting soon after her marriage to Rishi Kapoor at the age of 21. Now, she has decided to return to work full time a year after her husband's death.

In an interview with the PTI, Neetu Kapoor revealed that earlier her world was complete, and she didn't want to do films. However, after the death of her husband, late Rishi Kapoor, she had gone through a rough patch. And now, the actress shared that she wants to make the most out of her time rather than thinking about the past. Talking about the same, she said:
“All these years, I was receiving loads of offers. I didn’t feel like doing it because my world was busy, occupied, now my world is empty. I want to be busy. So, I am inviting work into my life. Today, my heart is saying, I want to work. I don’t want to be alone and think about the past. I want to be mentally occupied, travel, shoot, do TV shows. I don’t want to sit at home.”
Now, Neetu Kapoor will be seen as a judge in the dance reality show, Dance Deewane Juniors, and she has been busy shooting for the same. The mommy of two, Neetu Kapoor credited her children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni for supporting her to keep herself occupied. The 63-year-old actress shared:
"It has been a ride for me, for the whole family. There is so much support for each other. We are keeping ourselves busy. My kids told me don’t sit at home, and get busy. I don’t want to sit and think and be sad. I want to be busy with work, and meet people. Earlier, it was all about my husband and kids.”

Neetu Kapoor has worked with her husband, late Rishi Kapoor in movies like Love Aaj Kal, Khel Khel Mein, Rafoo Chakkar, Kabhi Kabhie, Zinda Dil and Amar Akbar And Anthony, and had received immense appreciation for the same. In the same interview, the veteran actress revealed that most of her movies in the recent past were a favour to her husband, Rishi. Elaborating on the same, Neetu said:
“There were films that I did with my husband and I was like a chamchi, he would say come and do it. Apni will se kuch nahi kiya. Jug Jugg Jeeyo is my will. I was doing (all that) trying to make my husband happy. Like, one shot in Love Aaj Kal, then with Do Dooni Chaar some actress didn’t want to be a mother of two older children, I don’t have those hang-ups. They requested and I did it. So, I was doing him a favour, not that I wanted to do.”
On the work front, Neetu Kapoor will be next seen in the film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo, and as a judge in the dance reality show, Dance Deewane Juniors.
