Neha Sharma made her Bollywood debut with the film, Crook. She is one of the celebrities who are ardently followed by the media and frequently clicked by paps. Apart from sets and events, her pictures from the gym and airport to daily outing pictures quickly go viral online. Although the actress smiles and poses for the photographers who are doing their assigned work, she feels they often cross boundaries that impact her freedom.
Neha Sharma recently sat for an interview with India Today. During her interview, she spoke about how the photographers who surround celebrities like her often invade their privacy. She says a celebrity may occasionally want to avoid being seen or clicked. However, the paps always take photos. Moreover, they sometimes take photos from inappropriate angles that are uploaded on the internet. In that situation, a woman has the only option to consciously choose her outfits to avoid any distasteful clicks restricting their freedom to dress. She was quoted as saying:
“These are things you have to do to stay relevant. Dikhna zaroori hai aaj ke time pe. As for the angles, it does get distasteful. As a woman, you also lose your freedom to dress the way you want to. When you are in the public eye, you do have to be careful as sometimes things go out of line.”

Celebrities often criticise paparazzi for following and clicking their photos at every possible moment. However, the issue has another side as well. Neha believes that paps are paid to get celebrities' snaps because they go viral online, and general people ought to look at them. As a result, clicking more photos of celebrities helps them earn money, and when she poses for them, she feels like supporting a family. She said:
“Their livelihood depends on this as they are paid for doing it. They are running their family by taking these videos. They also have a hard time standing in the sun the whole day waiting for one photo. There are always two ways to look at things. So, when you introspect, you realise you are also supporting a family, and that's beautiful.”
Before Neha Sharma shared her opinion, Janhvi Kapoor, who is promoting her film, Mr & Mrs Mahi, shared her opinion on paps. She shared that she has a warm rapport with paps. But, she is conscious of how she’s being clicked. She opened up to Indian Express and said she feels ‘not so confident’ and uncomfortable when clicked from ‘wrong angles.’ In addition, Mrunal Thakur shared that her parents felt uncomfortable whenever they came across her pictures, clicked from the wrong angles, that are shared on the internet.
