Neha Dhupia and her family have been going through a very tough time recently, after the demise of her father-in-law and former Indian cricket captain, Bhishan Singh Bedi. For the unversed, it was on October 23, 2023, when the cricketing legend breathed his last at the age of 77. While the loss of the icon was definitely a major loss for his family, it seems with the passage of time, they have started to heal gradually. And proof of the same was found when the bahu of the Bedi clan, Neha Dhupia resumed work, days after the demise of the late cricketer.
Neha Dhupia re-joined work days after the demise of her father-in-law, Bhishan Singh Bedi on October 27, 2023, when she hosted the prestigious opening night of the Jio MAMI Film Festival in Mumbai. The actress certainly put up a brave front, as she prioritised her work commitments amidst personal grief. In fact, she skipped posing at the red carpet for the very same reason.

However, what caught everyone’s attention was the fact that the diva chose to pay a heartfelt tribute to her late father-in-law, with a special gesture in her outfit. Well, the diva looked charismatic in a black-hued pencil skirt, teamed with a white-hued halter neck layered top. Paying tribute and honouring her late father-in-law, Bhishan Singh Bedi, Neha wore a black arm-band on her left hand.
Back on October 24, 2023, the Bedi family bid a teary-eyed farewell to their dearest papa, Bhishan Singh Bedi, as they hosted his funeral. Apart from the immediate family members, the funeral was attended by several celebrities from the film and cricketing world, including the likes of Sharmila Tagore, Kapil Dev, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan among others. Moreover, we also caught glimpses of Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi, who looked devastated and heartbroken with grief.

Right after the saddening news found its way out into the world, it was late Bhishan Singh Bedi’s doting son, Angad Bedi who released a joint statement on behalf of him and his family. In the eulogy, Angad expressed how much like his father’s game on the field, it was with his death that he bowled over his family like no other. Sharing a candid picture of his father, Angad wrote:
“Isn’t it completely in Dad’s character to bowl us over with the ultimate spin ball, one that even we never saw coming. While we are in shock and overcome with grief, we find solace in knowing that he lived a rich, fearless and full life that inspired many. We are moved by each and every message of love we have received, publicly and personally."

Back on October 14, 2022, Neha Dhupia had taken to her IG handle and dropped a special picture, wherein her father-in-law, Bhishan Singh Bedi received the Lifetime Achievement Award. However, what caught everyone’s attention was the fact that it was none other than his son, Angad, who handed over the award to his father.
