Netizens React To Sona Bashing Salman Khan For 'Age Gap' Comment, Say, 'It's Not Even Aesthetic...'

Salman Khan has been grabbing the headlines for his latest project, Sikandar. The actor has made a strong comeback in the film. However, the audience was not pleased with the age gap between the actor and his co-star, Rashmika Mandana. Salman addressed the difference between them, but it has now led to a different conversation.

Sona Mohapatra called Salman Khan out for his comment on the age gap

After Salman Khan addressed the age gap issue, Sona Mohapatra took to her X account and shared her dismay with the comment. The singer called Salman out for his remarks while defending the 31-year age gap with Rashmika. Salman said that if Rashmika or her father has no issue with it, then why do others have a problem with it? This statement didn't come across as Salman had hoped. Sona on March 23, 2025, stated:

"Heroine aur heroine ke 'BAAP' ko koi problem nahin hai’..to jab inki shaadi ho jaegi &..'permission' like garbage response on being asked about the out of context 31 year gap with his leading lady-the 'BHAI' of toxic masculinity, patriarchy doesn’t realise that #India has changed?"

Netizens react to the post

Soon, the screengrab of the tweet was shared on the discussion platform, Reddit, and netizens were quick to share their opinion on the same. A user said, "It's not even aesthetic now. We (the audience) deserve better. The last scene in the trailer of Rashmika singing lagja gale was just horrible. They have absolutely no chemistry whatsoever!!!" Another penned, "Both Salman and Rashmika are adults to make their own choices. Plus, it's strictly professional. Nothing personal to gross about it. There are many pressing issues in our society to be triggered about that Miss Mohapatra should be worried about." A user stated, "I was missing her. This is the longest time she has stayed silent on Bhai. Welcome back, Sona." A comment could be read as:

"This sub is filled with such hypocrites who bash Ranbir even for breathing. But were applauding this shameless misogynist for giving such a deranged statement. The fact that this sub doesn't absolutely hate this guy, but also praises him from time to time, despite having an image of being a feminist sub. It tells very well that people here are just pseudo feminists who only use feminism to bash certain actors."
