Nitish Bhardwaj, who rose to immense fame with his portrayal of Lord Krishna in B.R. Chopra’s iconic soap opera, Mahabharat, has been garnering a lot of limelight for the past couple of months. For the unversed, Nitish got separated from his wife, Smita Gate back in 2019. And now, the actor claimed that his ex-wife distanced him from their daughters, causing him mental agony.
After Nitish Bhardwaj accused his ex-wife, Smita Gate for not allowing him to meet his twin daughters, thereby causing him mental harassment, the latter finally reacted to all such claims. “I, Mrs Smita Bhardwaj, wife of Shri Nitish Bhardwaj, am now constrained and feel it necessary to release this statement to the press, and the public at large, in order to protect the interests of my minor twin daughters Devyani and Shivaranjani. The necessity for this public statement has arisen since my estranged husband, Shri Nitish Bhardwaj has been continuously making false and fabricated statements and allegations/representations to the press, as well as through various other media channels, ‘as regards my alleged abduction of my own daughters’. False and malicious allegations to malign my image.”

Continuing further in her revelation, Smita Gate confirmed that contrary to the multiple allegations made by her estranged husband of not being in contact with his twin daughters, he is, in fact communicating with them on the same phone numbers and email address, that is free of any hindrances. She mentioned:
“In fact, Nitish himself has claimed before the family court that he has communicated with my daughters on the same landline number. His assertion of being unaware of the phone number is false and misleading. Moreover, he has been furnished with a dedicated email address for communication on that email address in the past.”
In the concluding segment of her statement, IAS officer, Smita Gate accused her ex-husband, Nitish Bhardwaj for purposely utilising media channels for levelling false allegations in order to malign her reputed public image, by using fabricated accusations. Adding how the actor has an ulterior motive to inflict harassment, she concluded:
“The conspicuous absence of proactive engagement underscores Mr. Bhardwaj’s ulterior motives, which appears to be driven by a malicious intent to inflict harassment, emotional distress, and character defamation through the exploitation of media platforms.”
