Nora Fatehi has been in Indian showbiz for almost a decade, and she has not only captivated viewers with her amazing dance skills but also has grown and evolved. The actress was most recently seen in the Kunal Kemmu-directed film, Madgaon Express, co-starring Avinash Tiwary, Divyenndu, and Pratik Gandhi. Nora’s latest project has been met with appreciation, and in a recent interview, the 32-year-old actress talked about her decade-long journey in the industry, full of troughs and crests.
While conversing with ETimes, Nora shared that she has always been very thick-skinned, even before she started out in Bollywood. However, that does not mean she isn’t affected by false rumours. The actress revealed that a few influential people would spread false rumours about her in their camps and would create certain perceptions about her. And despite being thick-skinned, these rumours have affected her at times. Revealing how she jumps back from these setbacks, Nora said:
“Industry people who talk about me amongst themselves in camps spread certain rumours that are not true at all. They create certain perceptions about me. And that for me – despite me being thick-skinned and caring – I always ask, why? What is the reason? It may affect me for like a second. But then my brain goes, ‘Hello, you came here for a purpose. You have goals, forget about all that. You need to keep your eye on the prize.’ But I notice what is happening around me. I'm telling you 99% of the things they say are false, it's not true. That's where I'm always like, where are these things coming from?”

Nora also highlighted that some would attach her success in the industry to certain untrue things. The actress added that they take away her merit and attach it to something that makes no sense at all, ignoring the talent she brings to the table. However, Nora doesn’t let these petty things affect her focus. In her words:
“Sometimes I can be disappointed because they would attach my success to certain things that are not true. Then it almost makes me feel bad that you've taken away what I've given you guys, you've taken away my merit and just attached it to something which makes no sense. You have just ignored the talent, the skill and what I bring to the table and used something to say, ‘Oh, that's why she's here, that's why she's working’. That's a little disappointing. However, I'm so focused that I don't let these things shake me up.”

During the same conversation, Nora talked about being typecast as a dancer. She said that it’s their responsibility to break such moulds and put their best foot forward. Nora also revealed that she goes for auditions to date. The actress shared that she never hesitates to audition even though she is a known name in the industry.
However, all these challenges in her career have never faltered her belief in herself. Nora is proud that she made it big in the industry without any godfather. The actress mentioned during the same conversation that she would confidently pitch herself to the makers, convincing them why she is fit for the role or what she offers as an actor. In her words:
“I never needed a godfather here. I have always believed in myself. When I pitch myself to makers, I tell them, ‘This is why you need to take me. This is what I bring to the table. This is what I can offer as an actor.’ If you don’t believe in yourself, how do you expect someone else to believe in you?”
