Off Campus' Belmont Cameli Helped His Childhood Friend By Donating Kidney Through Swap Programme

Prime Video's show, Off Campus has become one of the much-loved shows, and people are yet to get over the plot, the cast, the love angles and whatnot. The show first premiered on May 13, 2026, and since then, people have been going gaga over the show, and have been waiting for season 2 to hit the screens soon. One of the main roles was played by Belmont Cameli. He was seen as 'Garrett Graham', a hockey player.

While he is actually a fictional character, his real-life portrayal on screen from the book was something that left people binging on the show and secretly craving someone like him. Off-Campus star, Belmont Cameli donated his kidney

Belmont Cameli wanted to donate his kidney in a wish to save his childhood friend, Brendan Flaherty, who went into kidney failure and needed dialysis every day. However, Belmont couldn't match Brendan. It means the actor couldn't help his friend directly; however, he chose an indirect way to help his friend, which also helped 7 other people. He entered a 14-person organ donation chain so that his donation could facilitate a potential match for his friend. The entire chain continued until Cameli's friend received a kidney. A patient named Clotilde Ruiz became the recipient of Cameli's kidney, while his friend also found the match from another donor. And this is how a total of 7 people received the donation through this kidney programme.

Speaking about the same, the then-20-year-old revealed that it was a privilege for him to save a life, and that his friend, too, found a potential match for a kidney transplant. He also mentioned how people in the world die from waiting for a kidney transplant, which is something that takes more than 3.5 years for a patient to find, even if they are lucky. Belmont had his fair share of side effects, but he said that the scar and the pain both will go away, but the love in his heart and his experience will never fade. Belmont could be quoted as saying:

"The fact of the matter is that most of us have two good kidneys, but thousands of people struggle to live day to day with only one failing kidney. Every day, 20 people die waiting for a kidney transplant. It takes patients an average of 3.5 years on the waitlist before receiving a transplant, and that is only IF they are so fortunate."

Belmont Cameli is an actor, who was seen in Saved by the Bell from 2020 to 2021. Apart from that, he was seen in the video game adaptation, Until Dawn, which was released in 2025. He was also a part of the 2025 crime drama The Alto Knights and the 2022 Netflix film Along for the Ride. The actor has been waiting for a lead moment, and as it seems with Off-Campus, he did what he always wanted to.

People have been in awe of his character. 'Garrett Graham', a captain of hockey at the university. He takes help from aspiring singer, 'Hannah Wells' and helped him to get close to her crush by fake-dating, it ended with an intense connection, which became even more palpable when she replied by saying that 'you don't kiss your friends like that' when he asked if they were on the same page.
