The two nations, India and Pakistan, are just divided by the political line. However, in the hearts of many citizens beyond the border, there is still a belongingness to the nation before partition. Thus, time and again, we get to see many brides ditching Pakistani attires and looking the prettiest in Indian bridal couture. We stumbled upon one such Pakistani bride, who looked breathtaking in an Indian ensemble redesigned by her nani at her wedding.
The bride, Habiba Rahman, stunned in a stunning red Banarasi lehenga, which featured gorgeous panels of hand-woven golden motifs all over it. She teamed it with a sage green dupatta with broad silverish borders and a choli with unique buti works. Sharing the pictures on her Instagram handle, Habiba mentioned that she was only 16 years old when her maternal grandmother showed her this red Banarasi lehenga that had been bought by the latter 10 years ago, and the now-bride treasured it for her special day. In the bride's words:

"When i was 16 years old my nani showed me a gorgeous panel of hand woven red banarsi — she told me she bought it in india a some 10 years prior, and explained how it’s woven with real zarri, the history of banarsi and how she came to buy it. When i saw it i was immediately obsessed - and i’m pretty sure i had stars in my eyes listening to nani talk about it, because she immediately said it’s mine to take whenever i’d like to get it made into something."

The bride also revealed that fast forward to 10 years later, when it was time to decide her wedding looks, she pointed towards this pretty lehenga. Afterwards, she gave it to her favourite designer in the world, i.e., her nani, Faiza Samee, to prepare it for her wedding festivities. And after a rigorous search for the ensemble for three days, the bride and her nani found the piece of outfit. Along with the lehenga, Faiza designed an unusual hand-dyed dupatta, featuring her signature hand block printing on chenille, and donning the ensemble altogether, the bride looked the best.
The bride completed her look with gold jewellery, including a long necklace, matching earrings, a sleek mesh patterned maang teeka and golden bangles. A middle-parted simple hairdo adorned with white carnations added stars to her look. In addition, subtle makeup, including defined eyebrows, kohl-rimmed eyes, and red glossy lipstick, completed her look.

For another wedding festivity, especially her reception, the bride wore another ensemble, which was designed by her lovely nani. For the day, she stunned in a fully handworked 13-yard farshi gharara. Habiba's ensemble featured gota patti work all over it, which alone took several months to complete. She teamed it with a fine chenille kameez that featured a myriad of different hand embroidery techniques, some dating back to Turkish Ottoman origins. Moreover, Habiba styled her ensemble with a matching-hued dupatta, featuring the same gota jaal works finished with sachhi gold kiran embroideries (handmade wire created using real gold).

Talking about Habiba's mehendi look, for the event, she opted for another vibrant ensemble and looked simply the prettiest. She wore a yellow kurta paired with a red roses printed skirt and a red tulle dupatta. The bride's kurta featured a deep V neckline along with golden borders and other buti embellishments and broad multi-layered borders near the bottom hemline. She completed her look with subtle makeup and an open hairstyle styled with white gajras.
