Sunita Rajwar, the talented actress who made her mark in Panchayat, embarked on her Hindi film industry journey in 2003. Over the course of nearly two decades, she has been lauded for her dedication and hard work, earning recognition for her memorable roles as ‘Kranti Devi’ in TVF’s web series, Panchayat, and ‘Bittu Ki Mummy’ in Gullak. However, even before her acting prowess was acknowledged, Sunita Rajwar's personal life, particularly her relationship with the renowned Bollywood actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, became a subject of public interest.
Sunita was Nawazuddin’s first girlfriend. The former couple fell in love while they were working towards cementing their names in the industry. However, the duo parted ways after a year and a half of being together. In his memoir, An Ordinary Life, Nawazuddin claimed that Sunita left him as he was poor and struggling back then. He also mentioned that the breakup completely shattered him so much so that he even thought of taking his life.

However, later, in 2017, Sunita wrote a lengthy FB post in which she slammed the actor for spewing lies and tarnishing her name. The actress stated that she left Nawazuddin for his ‘poor thinking’ and not his ‘poor status’. She also mentioned that the actor had turned their relationship into a ‘joke’ in front of their common friends. Check Sunita’s FB post:

After immense backlash over his memoir, Nawazuddin finally decided to withdraw it from the market. On October 30, 2017, he tweeted, apologising to everyone whose sentiments he had hurt and for causing chaos around it. Rituparna Chatterjee co-authored An Ordinary Life.

Meanwhile, after Nawazuddin withdrew the book, Sunita Rajwar also filed a defamation lawsuit against the actor of Rs. 2 crore for ruining her image and causing her mental agony. Moreover, a report by Mid-Day stated that Nawazuddin had responded to the allegations levied by Sunita and had termed them as ‘cheap publicity’ stunts. The actor also claimed that he was referring to some other Sunita and not Sunita Rajwar. But, the latter refuted his claims and revealed to Mumbai Mirror:
“He is lying that I am not the same Sunita. He himself has given all the evidence in his memoir that says I am the one he is talking about. First, he wrote my name in the book along with the National School of Drama, although without surname, but there was no other Sunita in NSD during our batch. Then he referred to that girl as Pahadi Girl, again there was no other girl from the hills, other than me. Then he also mentioned that the Sunita in his book was a roommate of famous television actress Achint Kaur, because of whose influence she might have left him, so it's clear as I was sharing accommodation with Achint Kaur.”
