When Pankaj Tripathi Revealed How Much He Loves His Wife, Mridula, 'Mera Phoolo Wala Pyar Nahin Tha'

One of the finest actors in the Hindi film industry at the moment, Pankaj Tripathi needs no introduction. The versatile actor is now regarded by many as a much-needed element in any film. Such is the level of fanbase he has created with his acting chops in recent years. With every film and web series, Pankaj Tripathi continues to rule the industry and is going through one of the best phases of his life as an actor. Some of his most notable works are Maasan, Nil Battey Sannata, Newton, Gurgaon, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Stree, Luka Chuppi, Extraction, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Ludo, Kaagaz, Mimi, 83, Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, Criminal Justice, Mirzapur, and the list goes on.

For the unversed, it was on January 16, 2004, when Pankaj Tripathi had tied the marital knot with the love of his life, Mridula, in the presence of their loved ones and family members. After some years of their marriage, the madly in love couple had embraced parenthood in 2006. Pankaj and Mridula had welcomed a baby girl in their lives, whom they had lovingly named, Aashi.

Once in a joint interview with Her Zindagi on their show, Baton Baton Mein, Pankaj Tripathi and his wife, Mridula had opened up about their happy married life. The couple recalled many memorable instances from their love story that looked straight out of a fairytale. However, the couple also talked about the ways how they supported each other and always had each other's back in all these years. In the candid interview, Pankaj had revealed that when he was in 11th class, he had seen Mridula for the first time at a wedding, and she was in 9th standard. Recalling one of the most memorable moments of his life, Pankaj Tripathi had said:

"Maine ek shaadi mein dekha the enhe. Ye ninth class mein thi, mein eleventh class mein tha. Toh vohi hota hain pratham drishti prem (love at first sight) ki dekhte he laga ki ab aage ka jeevan matlab toh vaisey he hogaya."

Going further in the same interview, when Pankaj Tripathi was told to give a bouquet of red roses to his wife, Mridula. Although the actor had resisted it initially, he handed over the beautiful bouquet to his wife, which brought a wide smile to the latter's face. However, the doting husband had admitted that he was a very shy person when it came to expressing love. Not only this, but Pankaj Tripathi also explained how his love wasn't about giving flowers or gifts. Instead, it was about the connection between the two souls. Reflecting more on the kind of love he has for his wife, Mridula, the Mirzapur actor had explained:

"45-46 saal ke vayasak (old) aadmi ko vo task deri hain jo 20-21 saal ke beche ko dena chahiye. Main prem karta hu bahut karta hu par mera prem phool dene wala nahin hain. Main mann ka haath pakadta hu. Hamare yaha kya hain na ki vo, muje log janamdin pe wish karte hain toh mai sharmajata hu. Toh muje samaj nahi aata kya reply du. Toh kuch cheezein hain, jo mujhe pata hain mujhse nahin hoga."

In another segment of the interview, Pankaj Tripathi's wife, Mridula was asked to name the character that she would like to see her husband playing on the screen. Answering the same, the doting wife had admitted that she would like to see Pankaj Tripathi portraying the character of a detective. She had said, “Mujhe mann hain ki ye ek detective ka role adaa kare.” As soon as, Mridula had ended her sentence, the actor had jumped into the conversation and had hilariously explained why he also thought that he would play this role quite efficiently. Answering the same, he had said:

"Main acha detective hounga. Ghar mein gamla naya aaya hain, chupane ke baavjuud bhi main pakad leta hu. Aur masoor ki daal hain ya nahin hain shooting pe beth ke bhi pata karleta hu. Toh enhone (Mridula) deep study kiya hain ki ye detective bhi acha bann sakta hain."
