Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood. He never leaves a chance to mesmerise his fans with on-screen performances, charming personality, and down-to-earth nature. He was last seen in the thriller, Murder Mubarak, based on the novel, Club You To Death written by Anuja Chauhan. However, in his personal life, the actor has been hitting one after the other bad news. In 2023, he lost his father, Pandit Benaras Tripathi. Recently, his family faced a tragic set of events when his sister, Sarita Tiwari and brother-in-law, Rajesh Tiwari, met with a car accident.
Unfortunately, the car accident took Pankaj Tiwari's sister, Sarita's husband, Rajesh's life untimely and the entire family is going through the most toughest phase of their lives. Thus, the actor took a break from his work to be with his family and cope with the tragedy. However, now, a source close to the family, opened up about the same in an interview with Hindustan Times. In addition, the insider mentioned something contrary to the earlier reports that claimed Sarita and Rajesh were going to see the shoot of Pankaj's upcoming project when the tragic incident took place.

The insider mentioned that when Pankaj's sister and brother-in-law faced the tragic incident, he was on a break from work. The source close to the Tripathi family also mentioned that the actor has been using the time to heal from the shock after losing Rajat in the car accident, which occurred near Nirsa Chowk on GT Road in Dhanbad. The source added:
“Tripathi was in his village at the time of the incident. Tripathi was on a break from his work. He was in his village and not shooting for anything. Now, he is using the time at hand to heal from the loss, and spending time with his family members. He will start shooting for his next film right away after reaching Mumbai. He will be working on Anurag Basu’s project and the next instalment of web show Criminal Justice.”
As per an earlier report by HT, Sarita was critically injured, and her husband, Rajat, left for the heavenly abode after facing the fatal car accident on April 20, 2024, around 4 pm. According to the reports, Pankaj's sister and brother-in-law were travelling from Kamalpur in Gopalganj, Bihar, to Chittaranjan, West Bengal at that time. They were then hurriedly taken to Dhanbad Medical College Hospital. While Rajesh was declared dead, Sarita was in the surgical ICU. For those who don't know, Rajat was employed by Indian Railways and had his post in Chittaranjan. A few other reports at that time also mentioned that the couple was going to meet Pankaj when they faced such a tragic incident.

Back on August 21, 2023, Pankaj Trptahi's family issued a statement regarding his father, Pandit Banaras Tiwari's demise at the age of 99. A few days after that, Pankaj also inaugurated a school library in Gopalganj, Bihar, in memory of his late father. Later, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Pankaj stated how his father's values, ethics, and principles helped him shape himself as an actor and as an individual. Thus, he always wanted something special dedicated to his late father.
