The advent of paparazzi culture in the entertainment industry and its subsequent boom after the COVID-19 pandemic have played a significant role in making celebrities more accessible to the public than before. Nowadays, paparazzi give updates on the whereabouts of celebrities and reveal new information about them. Recently, the seasoned paparazzo, Varinder Chawla, took to the discussion platform Reddit and, in an AMA session, shared insights about the behaviour of various B-town celebrities.
When one of the Redditors asked Varinder to reveal his “Best and worst celeb encounter,” the paparazzo recalled an anecdote related to the popular Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt. He shared the story and said that once he rammed into the actor's vanity van. Given the whopping price tag of the van, the crew members surrounded him. However, Sanjay Dutt saved him and offered to personally pay for the damages. Varinder said:
“Long back, 10-15 years back, I, by mistake, went and hit my Maruti Zen into a vanity van hired by the production team for Sanjay Dutt. Vanity van got serious scratches, it was an expensive DC-designed car. The crew of the vanity van and production guys surrounded me, but Sanjay Dutt came out, and he literally saved me. He told them whatever the damage was, he will personally pay it.”

In the same Reddit thread, another user asked him to name a celebrity who would help someone in need. The paparazzo shared that Sonu Sood, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sanjay Dutt have most often come forward to help out people. Varinder also revealed that Shraddha has always been a sweet actress when another user asked if she pretends to be sweet just in front of the camera.
In the same AMA session, Varinder also disclosed that Taapsee Pannu has been the rudest celebrity and said that she does not like being clicked by the paparazzi at all. He also mentioned that Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan have been his favourites. When one of the users asked, “Which celeb is fake, like they’ll switch once the camera is off?” The paparazzo named Ajay Devgn.

Varinder Chawla, who boasts a massive Instagram follower base of 4.7 million, revealed that he’s ‘sometimes’ scared of Bollywood’s bhaijaan, Salman Khan. The paparazzo discussed how most cricketers behave softly and avoid getting clicked. Varinder added that Virat Kohli has been very kind to all the photographers. He also discussed that Shah Rukh Khan is the hardest to spot, and is at the top of the rate card.
