Pawan Kalyan is hailed among the most successful stars in India. He has proved his mettle of acting in many films, including Gabbar Singh, Vakeel Saab, Balu, Suswagatham, and Puli, among others. However, in 2008, Pawan left his acting career and joined politics as the President of his brother, Chiranjeevi Konidela's party, Praja Rajyam's youth wing. Later, he formed his own political party, JanaSena, in 2014.
On April 23, 2024, Pawan Kalyan applied for his candidature from the Andhra Pradesh Pithapuram Assembly segment in the upcoming elections. As per an affidavit given to the electoral authorities, it was claimed that Pawan is legally responsible for obligations worth Rs. 65.77 crore. However, the founder of the Janasena party recently revealed that he and his family own movable and immovable assets worth Rs. 164.53 crore.

Pawan Kalyan's income has been close to Rs. 60 crore for the last four years, and he had reported a loss of Rs. 1.10 crore in his income tax forms for the year, 2018–19. According to the latest update, Kalyan, along with his four dependent children, owns movable assets worth Rs. 46.17 crore whereas their immovable assets are valued at Rs. 118.36 crore. Over the years, there have been eight criminal convictions against the politician-actor, including the use of inflammatory remarks and violating motor vehicle laws.
The affidavit also disclosed that the Janasena founder is the proud owner of 11 vehicles, including a Range Rover and a Harley Davidson motorcycle, valued at more than Rs. 14 crore. On May 13, 2024, Andhra Pradesh will have the elections for its Assembly and Lok Sabha seats, and the votes will be counted on June 4, 2024. As per the seat-sharing agreement amongst NDA partners, Janasena would run for two Lok Sabha seats and 21 Assembly seats.

For the uninformed, Pawan Kalyan previously tied the knot twice, but neither of his two marriages had a successful ending. It was back in 1997 when the actor married a 19-year-old girl named Nandini in an arranged marriage setup. However, after a few years of marital bliss, the duo started facing troubles. In 2001, Pawan announced that he was moving in with actress, Renu Desai, and later welcomed a baby boy with her. However, Pawan and Renu got divorced in 2008. Later, the actor tied the knot with Russian actor, Anna Lezhneva, on September 30, 2013. In 2017, the couple welcomed their baby boy, Mark Shankar Pawanovich.
