Saif Ali Khan and Tabu came together for the first time as a couple in Nitin Kakkar directorial, Jawaani Jaaneman and the film also launched a star-kid, Pooja Bedi’s daughter, Alaya Furniturewalla. From superbly fleshed-out characters and hilarious dialogues to the remakes of songs, Ole Ole and Gallan Kardi, Jawaani Jaaneman is reviewed to be a wholesome entertainer. The makers had organised special screenings of the film on January 29-30, 2020, and the A-listers of B-town had attended it including the families of cast and crew. To give a background of starlet, Alaya Furniturewalla, she is the daughter of Pooja Bedi and her ex-husband, Farhan Furniturewalla. Granddaughter of Main Hoon Na star, Kabir Bedi, Alaya seems to be a promising debutante of 2020. Even before her debut, Alaya had made it to the headlines for her drool-worthy social media profile. Pooja and Farhan had ended their 9 years of married life in 2003 and had gotten officially divorced when their daughter, Alaya was just 5.
Kabir Bedi and Pooja Bedi don’t share a warm bond with each other and the same was proved when the latter called her step-mother ‘evil’. But the father-daughter duo came together to celebrate the proud moment of Alaya Furniturewalla making her Bollywood debut and posed as a happy family at the screening of Jawaani Jaaneman. Sharing the picture with Kabir and Alaya, Pooja wrote, “Three generations in film!!! At the launch of #jawaanijaaneman wishing @alaya.f the VERRRRRRRY BEST! Post me your comments on your favourite scene once u see the film. Thank you@jayshewakramani @nitinrkakkar @pooja_ent for a fab film.” Alaya commented on her mother’s post with an array of hearts.
Kabir Bedi too, shared his happiness on seeing his granddaughter, Alaya Furniturewalla making a successful Bollywood debut. He tweeted, “So happy to see ALAYA F, my granddaughter, starring in her first film, “Jawaani Jaaneman”, as daughter of dashing Saif Ali Khan and brilliant Tabu. She plays her heart-warming role beautifully. A delight to watch. My blessings for lifelong success. @AlayaF___ #JawaaniJaaneman.”
After the first special screening of Jawaani Jaaneman, Pooja Bedi had penned down her emotions on watching her ‘not so baby girl anymore’, Alaya Furniturewalla embarking on her journey of fame. Pooja had tweeted, “So emotional!!!! Watched #JawaaniJaaneman with cast crew & family. I've laughed & wept &been filled with a multitude of emotions!!!! What an amazing feeling to watch my child on the big screen. Her love & commitment to her craft is so apparent. On January 16, 2020, when Kabir Bedi had turned 74, he had opened up about the debut of his granddaughter, Alaya Furniturewalla. In conversation with a leading media portal, Kabir had spoken about Alaya’s big Bollywood debut in Saif Ali Khan and Tabu starrer Jawaani Jaaneman. Kabir believes that Alaya is an unbeatable combination as the starlet has prepared herself for her next two movies too. On January 3, 2020, with the release of Alaya’s first look in the film, Kabir had tweeted, “CONGRATULATIONS to Alaya F, my grand-daughter, on her debut film, “Jawaani Jaaneman”, with the dashing Saif Ali Khan playing her father, releasing on Jan 31st! Keep the family flag flying, Alaya All my blessings.”
The special screening of Jawaani Jaaneman was attended by Alaya Furniturewalla's parents, Pooja Bedi and Farhan Furniturewalla, and their respective spouses. While Pooja attended the screening with her fiancé, Maneck Contractor, Farhan graced the premiere with his wife, Laila Khan and son, Zaan. Everyone posed like a modern happy family and it marked to be a reunion for the clan.
In an interview with the IANS, Alaya Furniturewalla had revealed that she likes to make decisions on her own when she was asked if she takes career advices from her star grandfather, Kabir Bedi and mother, Pooja Bedi. She was quoted as saying, "I like to do stuff myself, be it taking any decision or anything else, I generally take my own call. I believe in 'sabki suno lekin apni karo' (listen to everyone but take your own call). It does not mean that I don't take the advice my mother or my grandfather (Kabir Bedi) give me about films. I do discuss things with them, but at the end of the day it would be my decision. I am quite critical about myself."
