Pooja Bhatt is among the most successful names in the Hindi film industry. She made her acting debut at 17 with the film, Daddy, directed by her father, Mahesh Bhatt. Daughter of Mahesh Bhatt and his first wife, Kiran Bhatt (Loraine Bright before marriage), Pooja is also famous for her controversies and multiple affairs with Bobby Deol, Fardeen Khan, Ranvir Shorey and many more. For the unversed, she tied the knot with an Indian VJ, and Mumbai-based restaurateur, Manish Makhija in 2003 after dating for only 2 months. However, after living in marital bliss for 11 years, she divorced Manish in 2011, and since then, she has been living a single and happy life.
In an interview with the ETimes, Pooja Bhatt opened up about her 11 years of marital bliss with her ex-husband, Manish Makhija. She mentioned that although the duo was together for 11 years, things changed near the end of their married life. Thus, she compared her marital life with 'dress rehearsal' and mentioned that marriage is a one-time chance in anyone's life. So, one needs to think well before continuing the relationship. She explained:
"I was married for almost 11 years then we decided that something is not right and it is not working out. We should not live a lie and it is not a dress rehearsal. You get one chance in life. He was part of the entertainment industry. He is a very good human being, he’s Capricorn and that’s why we got along very well."

Further, Pooja added that 11 years of married life with Manish were filled with dignity. Thus, when she felt something wasn't going right in their relationship, they considered parting ways without playing blame games and throwing dirt on each other. Revealing how they parted ways amicably, she stated:
"When we start speaking a lie, Uske baad kya hota hai Na jhooth shuru ho jaata hai, the blame game starts and I didn’t want that. Whatever was there was there bahut Accha tha.., jab tak tha. Till the time dignity was there we were together. Then we parted ways on a good note."
Even after 11 blissful years of marriage, Pooja Bhatt always refrained from embracing motherhood. When the actress was asked about the same in the interview, Pooja replied that she always loved kids but didn't want to have them during her marriage. She revealed how Manish and her in-laws are indeed very good people, but she couldn't lie that she didn't want to have kids. She shared:
“They (Manish and his family) are very practical in life and nobody can be a better father than them. But I wasn’t ready to have kids at that point. I want kids and I love kids but at that point I didn’t want kids. I couldn’t lie at the risk of never meeting somebody, I couldn’t lie. It’s fine but I cannot lie."
