Poulomi Das roared like a lioness inside the show, Bigg Boss OTT 3. However, her stint was short-lived in the reality show, as she was the third contestant to be evicted during the mid-week elimination. Poulomi has been making headlines with her honest opinions. The model-turned-actress wasn't afraid to express her opinion and admit her mistake in front of many when she demeaned 'Vada Pav Girl' Chandrika. But there are some, who have been passing mean comments on Poulomi.
Recently, in a press conference after the show, Poulomi Das talked about the hate comments she has been receiving on Instagram. Poulomi revealed it was after the show that a certain section of people mocked her skin tone. However, the actress clearly gave out the message that she is not ashamed of her skin tone, and it is what helped her stand out in the crowd. Poulomi said:
"Waha pe 50-60 comments mere colour pe hai. 'Kali-kaluti, daayan, raat ko dikhegi nahi. Arey fair and lovely laga'."

Further, in the interview, Poulomi proudly revealed that she was the face of Fair and Glow, which was earlier known as Fair and Lovely, for years. Well, Poulomi's way of expressing her thoughts is going to change our society's mindset, where skin tones are still mocked. She said:
"By the way, I am the face, I was the face of the Glow and Lovely, FYI. Formerly known as Fair and Lovely."
Poulomi further added that she doesn't care what people think of her and her skin tone. Whatever she is today is all because of her colour. Poulomi also said that if she stands out of the crowd, it is due to her skin tone. Poulomi gave another strong message, clearly stating that people need to change their mindsets. She said:
"Mujhe nahi fark padta tum kya sochte ho mere baare mein. Mai jo bhi hoon mere colour ki wajah se hoon. Mai alag bhi dikhti hoon na camera pe toh mere colour ki wajah se. Mai is colour ke sath paida hui hoon. Mujhe sharam nahi hai agr apko sharam aa raha hai toh vo apka dimag hai. Apka soch ganda hai toh mjhe mera colour saaf karne ki jarrurat nahi, ap apna soch saaf karlo."
In 2020, Fair and Lovely realised the impact it had created on the people of India for so many decades. So, to rectify the mistake, it changed the brand's name to Glow and Lovely. And Poulomi Das was the face of the brand. However, Poulomi's journey into the glam world started in 2016, as she was part of the show, Suhani Si Ek Ladki. She has also been part of shows like, Dil Hi Toh Hai and Kartik Purnima,
Poulomi definitely proved to the world that it is high time when people should happily accept their skin colour and flaunt it with pride. We live in a nation where Gods and Goddesses like Krishna, Jagannath Ji, Maa Kali, show off their skintone, so why are we obsessing over fair skin tone?
