Pratibha Sinha is one of the few actresses in the history of Indian cinema who succeeded in her acting career after dancing to a song. It was the year 1996, and Dharmesh Darshan's film, Raja Hindustani, was released in theatres. The film starred Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor in lead roles, while Suresh Oberoi, Archana Puran Singh, Mohnish Behl, and others in supporting roles. The story grabbed headlines for a lot of reasons. During the 42nd Filmfare Awards, Udit Narayan won the Best Playback Singer award for the song, 'Pardesi Pardesi'. Sameer Anjaan also won the Best Lyricist award for penning the lyrics of 'Pardesi Pardesi'. The song was sung by Alka Yagnik, Sapna Awasthi, and Udit Narayan. For the uninitiated, legendary actress, Mala Sinha's daughter, Pratibha Sinha was all set to make her acting debut opposite iconic screenwriter, Salim Khan's son, Salman Khan. The film also had Mala Sinha and Junior Mehmood in vital roles. The film's mahurat shot was done, but for some unknown reasons, the shooting halted and couldn't be completed 100 per cent. As a result, the film joined the long list of unfinished Bollywood films, which were never released.
However, as per multiple reports, Kal Ki Awaz is the film in which she got the chance to showcase her acting skills to par. In the following years, she appeared in the movies Dil Hai Betaab, Pokiri Raja, Ek Tha Raja, and Tu Chor Main Sipahi. Despite working in all these films, Pratibha wasn't getting the recognition she needed to succeed in the film industry.
Finally, in 1996, she achieved much-awaited success with her dance sequence in Raja Hindustani's song, Pardesi Pardesi. However, just when she started getting attention from renowned producers, she fell in love with famous music director, Nadeem Saifi and reportedly sacrificed her acting career.
For the uninitiated, Nadeem Saifi is one of the most famous music directors in the history of Indian cinema. His duo with Shravan Kumar Rathod is considered among the most successful duos in the Indian music industry. Derived by the name 'Nadeem-Shravan', they ruled the industry from the 1990s to the 2000s. Pratibha Sinha and Nadeem Saifi came closer while working together in the films, Kal Ki Awaz and Raja Hindustani.
Interestingly, Nadeem Saifi was married at that time to his wife, Sultana, when he fell in love with Pratibha Sinha. The actress knew about Nadeem's marriage but continued dating him, as she was madly in love with the music director. Soon, their dating reports started creating a noise in the media corridors. As soon as Mala Sinha got to know about her daughter's relationship with a married man, she strictly told Pratibha to end all ties with him.
After Pratibha Sinha started meeting Nadeem Saifi secretly and wasn't giving enough attention to her acting career, her mother, Mala Sinha sent her to Chennai. However, even after going to Chennai, Pratibha and Nadeem continued their relationship and started planning to get married. As per a report in Jansatta, Pratibha boldly stated in an old interview that she wanted to marry Nadeem Saifi. However, their relationship took an unusual turn when Mala Sinha and Pratibha organised a press conference in Mumbai, in which the latter accused Nadeem Saifi of kidnapping and rape.

The music director added that Mala and Pratibha wanted publicity, so they tarnished his image with false allegations.
Pratibha Sinha reportedly received a lot of backlash when Nadeem Saifi was named co-suspect in the iconic music producer and the founder of T-Series, Gulshan Kumar's murder case. For the uninitiated, Mumbai Police declared Nadeem as the prime suspect in Gulshan Kumar's murder case. Mumbai Police Commissioner Ronald H Mendonca even alleged during a press conference that Nadeem hired goons who killed Gulshan Kumar. As per the police reports, Nadeem was in close contact with the brother of a famous Dubai-based gangster.
