No age is an ideal age to embrace motherhood and it is a decision that only a woman should take only when she is ready, and not when society wants her to be. Dia Mirza too, took that decision of her life when she was ready to experience the surreal phase of motherhood with her husband, Vaibhav Rekhi. Then a month and a half after their wedding, on April 1, 2021, Dia had announced her pregnancy with Vaibhav.

We were already marrying as we wanted to spend our lives together. We discovered we were going to have a baby while we were planning our wedding. So this marriage is not the result of pregnancy. We didn't announce the pregnancy until we knew its safe (medical reasons). This is the happiest news of my life. I've waited for many many years for this to happen. No way I would hide it for any reason other than medical."
