The once-upon-a-time lovebirds, Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia's love tale was one of the fairytale celebrity romances that gripped the attention of the nation and everyone thought that they are destined to be with each other. From gala events, gold matches to the wedding of Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, after a few years of being “just good friends”, Preity finally made her relationship with the business tycoon, Ness Wadia, official. This successful pair was madly-in-love with each other until 2014, when Preity filed a complaint against Ness accusing him of molestation, threats and abuse. Cut to 2007, Preity Zinta was quizzed about her romance with Ness Wadia on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, to which she had stated, “We don’t hide our relationship from the media. We go for parties together, we go to have coffee in Barista, we go for pizzas together… But I don’t talk about him or talk about how I feel. What do I say? Those are feelings I cherish.” And cut to June 2014, Preity pressed molestation charges against Ness and revealed that they aren’t on talking terms.
Before we divulge in some more details about Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia’s relationship and breakup, first things first. Reports were rife that Preity was stopped from boarding her GoAir flight and is banned because her ex-boyfriend, Ness, who serves as the Director on Boards of GoAir, had issued such orders. Explaining the situation, GoAir has released a press statement on April 7, 2019, which stated, “GoAir denies stopping Preity Zinta from boarding GoAir flights - Sections of the media have reported malicious and factually incorrect story that is false, fabricated and without any basis stating that 'Preity Zinta was stopped from boarding GoAir flight'.”
The statement could be further read as, “GoAir strongly and completely denies any such action. Contrary to the reportage, all the facts-on-ground clearly show that Ms. Preity Zinta had a smooth flight Mumbai to Chandigarh GoAir G8-381 on Saturday 30th March 2019 wide her ticket PNR E6UD9J which had 4 passengers including herself and they were booked to travel economy class. She travelled on seat 13F. Further, on Tuesday 2nd April 2019 she also booked herself on a return flight G8 382 from Chandigarh to Mumbai but did not show up. Ms. Preity Zinta was booked twice in the past on GoAir flights but she did not show up.” (Also Read: Sheena Bajaj Celebrates First Gangaur With Hubby Rohit Purohit, Applies Mehendi Of His Name [VIDEO])
Demonstrating the boarding status of Preity Zinta, they further added, “Chandigarh to Mumbai. PNR: E4Q37P. Flight: G8-382. 2nd April 2019. Status: NOSHOW. Mumbai to Jammu. PNR: FC3S2H. Flight: G8-287. 8th November 2018. Status: NOSHOW. This clearly demonstrates that sections of media have reported mischievously and without verifying the facts with GoAir.” Elaborating the facts, the statement could be read as, “Facts from GoAir: On 30th March, Ms. Preity Zinta reported at the airport at 07:50 hours to board GoAir flight G8-381 from Mumbai-Chandigarh which was scheduled to depart at 08:35 hours. Her ticket PNR: E6UD9J had 4 passengers including herself and they were booked to travel economy class. She was assigned seat 13F. Ms. Preity Zinta boarded the aircraft at 08:06 hours.”
The GoAir spokesperson concluded the statement, “She was not stopped by GoAir staff at any point. Her travel was smooth and uneventful and she reached Chandigarh as per her travel plan. There were other Filmstars too on board G8 381. Flight G8-381 departed 2 minutes early at 08:33 hours. GoAir staff did not interact with her at any given point in time. - GoAir Spokesperson.”
Coming back to the charges against Ness Wadia by his estranged ladylove, Preity Zinta, the police took four years to file the actual charge sheet against Ness Wadia (in February 2018) under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code. And on October 1, 2018, the Bombay High Court suggested Preity Zinta and Ness Wadia consider "finishing off" the 2014 case. Finally, after four years, Preity dropped off the charges against Ness after the latter agreed to issue an apology.
