Elvis Presley was one of the most iconic pop singers in America. He was even the first talented artist to invent the genre of rock and roll music ever, which established him as one of the legendary singers in the history of music. Elvis Presley also featured in several prototypes of music videos, wherein his iconic dance moves and charismatic personality grooved masses of the audience in no time. In his personal life, the ‘King of rock and roll’ got married to American businesswoman and actress, Priscilla Presley in 1967. The duo was blessed with a daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. Unfortunately, Priscilla and Elvis ended their marriage in 1973.
For the unversed, at the time of the divorce in 1973, Priscilla had made a vow to her ex-husband, Elvis Presley that she wouldn’t re-marry anyone else, as long as he was alive. While such a promise surely is quite unheard and startling, in a recent revelation, Priscilla opened up about the same. Keeping her ex-husband’s promise to date, Priscilla revealed the reason behind the same and mentioned:

“To be honest with you, I never wanted to marry after him. I never had any desire, no one could ever match him.”

Elvis and Priscilla’s only daughter, Lisa Marie Presley grew up to become a popular American singer and songwriter, and was even married to the ‘king of pop’, Michael Jackson from 1994-1996. Unfortunately, Lisa passed away on January 12, 2023. Speaking about her daughter, Priscilla also revealed why she and her ex-husband, Elvis Presley never thought about having another child in their lives. In her words:
“Elvis felt he had a very busy schedule, and he did have a bit of guilt that he wasn't around that much when Lisa was younger. With his scheduling and his touring, he just felt he wasn't around enough to give a lot of attention to having another child.”
For the unversed, Elvis Presley passed away on August 16, 1977. Back during the time, in an interview with Piers Morgan, Priscilla had opened up about the impact of the news of her ex-husband’s sudden death on her life and revealed she was dumbfounded when Elvis’s road manager informed her of the tragic news on the phone. The businesswoman expressed how it was difficult for her to even imagine a person like Elvis Presley, still young and full of plans to be gone. Moreover, she also highlighted that she was afraid and thought it of as a daunting task to break this tragic news to their daughter, Lisa, who was all but nine-years-old at that time.

Well, it is surely quite interesting to unravel how such a popular singer, hailed as the ‘King of Rock and Roll’ fell in love with a prolific businesswoman like Priscilla Presley. The duo had crossed paths in West Germany in 1959, where the latter’s stepfather worked as a captain in the U.S. Air Force. Back at the time, Elvis too was stationed there, as he had been recently drafted in the U.S. Army. They ended up meeting one another at a party, where Elvis fell head-over-heels in love with Priscilla. This formulated the base of a beautiful love story. Afterwards, when Elvis got discharged from the army in 1960, he invited Priscilla to his magnificent home at Memphis, where the duo placated their parents for marriage. And as they say, the rest is history!
