Priyanka Chopra shifted her base to the West after making a name for herself in the Indian entertainment industry. The former Miss World has done some notable works in Hollywood, including Citadel, Quantico, Baywatch, Love Again and more. In a recent interview, the Indian diva talked about how she was unaware of pay parity in the West.
While conversing with India Today, PeeCee recalled being surprised when her US agency told her to ask for the same amount as her male counterparts. The actress, who has recently produced the documentary WOMB (Woman of My Billion), said that she was unaware that she actually has the power to demand the same fees. In her words:
“When my agents told me that we were going to ask for pay parity, even I was surprised. I was like, ‘What? No, that doesn’t happen in our industry.’ And they were like, ‘Let’s just ask the question.’ So, I didn’t even know that I had that power. I did not know I could aspire for more, because I was desensitised. I was told this is normal.”

Sharing that most women don’t even know that they, too, can have a voice in their lives, PeeCee added:
