Global icon, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a diva, who believes in speaking her heart out without mincing her words. Over the years, we have seen us conquering millions of hearts with her confidence and graceful personality. Married to her actor-singer husband, Nick Jonas, Priyanka has beautifully adjusted herself in the western culture, but she ensures to respect her Indian roots.
Priyanka Chopra often opens up about her childhood and upbringing in a liberal household, that gave her the confidence to leave a mark wherever she goes. Now, in a recent interview with a leading media portal, Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra spilled the beans on how she brought up her children to be confident individuals.

In an interview with Hauterrfly, Madhu Chopra opened up about raising her kids, Priyanka Chopra and Siddharth Chopra in a liberal household and revealed that both her kids had three basic rights in her house. However, Madhu also mentioned certain limitations that the kids had to follow. She said:
“Tantrums were never allowed, raised voices were never allowed, abuse was never allowed. With these things banned, they could express themselves. Both my kids had the right of thought, right of speech, and the right of expression. We used to ask them first, then share how we feel.”
Madhu shared that right from a young age, her kids were always asked to speak first, and it was only after hearing them out that the parents used to give their suggestions. The doting mommy also mentioned that because of this practice, her kids grew up to be confident individuals. Adding that now Siddharth and Priyanka have the ability to articulate their thoughts and are self-assured, Madhu said:
“Even when they were younger, when they came back from school, we used to ask them first about what happened, then we used to discuss it, or advice them. What happened with this was they became confident, they were never scared of speaking, at least in front of their parents. Then it became a part of their nature. They became expressive.”

Further in the interview, Madhu also spoke about Priyanka’s husband, Nick Jonas and called him 'very sweet'. When she was asked about her thoughts about the age gap between Priyanka and Nick, the proud mommy said:
“Anyone who keeps Priyanka happy is my guy.”
For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas had entered their parenthood phase with the arrival of their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas through surrogacy on January 15, 2022.
