There’s nothing bad about living a conventional life, as it has its perks and privileges. However, some people find it hard to live in a certain set of patterns, as they’re more like wild creatures. They don’t belong to a specific set of rules, as they’re always ready to challenge their comfort zone and are excited to embrace the beauty of uncertainty.
Travelling solo is an unconventional choice, as it forces you to trust strangers, get away from the comfort of your loved ones, and deal with a constant thought of ‘what if everything ends badly’. However, despite these complications, there’s nothing more powerful than travelling, which always sets one's spirit free.

Well, today we are going to tell you about a woman from Pune, who travels across India with her son and has become an inspiration for so many women worldwide. If you’re an avid social media user, you’ve already guessed her name so far. Yes! We are talking about Aneekah Ssonawane, who is known on social media by her username, ‘nomadmom_son’. Well, she is one of the renowned solo female travellers in India. However, what makes her one of the most inspiring wanderers in India is the fact that she is a doting mother to a 7-year-old son named Pransh.
Right from the beginning of her childhood, Aneekah Ssonawane has been fascinated with the concept of travelling. She always believed that there’s nothing more powerful than travelling, as it teaches many things to a person that isn’t even mentioned in the books. So even while working as an IT manager in a reputed IT firm, she used to take time to explore new places. However, when COVID-19 hit, things went hard for Aneekah and just like everyone, she was also unable to get time for herself.

That’s when she decided to quit her job. It wasn’t an easy decision for Aneekah Ssonawane, as she was a married woman and a mother of a young kid. However, it was her undying love for travel that boosted her confidence. It was in 2020 when she planned trips to Uttarakhand and Banaras after leaving her IT job.
After Aneekah returned from the trip, she showed the pictures to her son, Pransh, and he got mesmerised by the pictures and begged his mother to take him with her on her next trip. The doting mother said ‘yes’ to her son, and since then, they’ve never looked back.
The schools were shut down, and students were getting online classes worldwide. However, Aneekah Ssonawane didn’t like how her son, Pransh was spending so much time in front of the laptop. Hence, she decided to take her son out of school. The doting mommy pulled him out and instead decided to make her son learn through life. It was in January 2021 when the mommy-son duo, Aneekah and Pransh went on their first-ever trip to Himachal Pradesh’s picturesque Spiti Valley.
When Aneekah Ssonawane took her son, Pransh Ssonawane, for his first trip to Spiti Valley, he was just four years old. However, the doting mother saw so many changes in her son’s behaviour as he had started complaining less about things and was no longer throwing tantrums, the ones he used to when they were at home. From interacting with locals to sharing food with them and communicating with strangers, Pransh learnt the most valuable life skills while travelling across India.
Although, it’s hard to keep track of all the places that Aneekah Ssonawane and her son, Pransh Ssonawane, have covered so far, as they’ve been travelling for the last few years without any major breaks. Well, Aneekah and Pransh have covered several places in Mumbai, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Aurangabad.
Once in an interview with Conde Nast Traveller, Aneekah Ssonawane was asked why she prefers to travel without carrying an itinerary with her son, Pransh Ssonawane. In response, the solo traveller mommy, Aneekah explained that she never travels to tick places. Instead, it is more about going slow with their journey and experiencing something new. She explained:
"Travelling with your child is not about ticking tourist spots off your list. It’s about finding unique experiences, whether it is sampling the local food, attending a festival or doing an activity like pottery."

Further, in the same interview with Conde Nast Traveller, Aneekah Ssonawane also shared her views on the concept of road schooling. The doting mother explained how road schooling has made her child curious about things and enhanced his outlook towards life and society. She also added that the things mentioned in a kid’s curriculum at school are quite restricted. Recalling their visit to Pangong Lake, she revealed how Pransh learnt that it is the highest saltwater lake in the world. She said:
"From his travels, he had learned that Pangong Lake is the highest saltwater lake in the world. He is aware that while one-third of the lake is in India, the rest is in China. Would he have learned all this while studying from a geography textbook?"

The clarity between Aneekah and her husband is the key to their happy marriage.
