Atul Subhash's suicide case shocked the entire nation, and a similar case of suicide due to marital problems happened in Delhi featuring a businessman. The name of the Delhi bizman is Puneet Khurana, who committed suicide on December 31, 2024, after facing a lot of harassment from his wife, Manika Pahwa and her parents. According to the latest reports, Puneet allegedly died by suicide, and his body was recovered from his residence in Delhi's Model Town.
After Puneet Khurana's demise, his parents accused their son's wife, Manika and his in-laws of harassing him to an extent when he preferred to take the extreme step. As per a report in NDTV, Manika and Puneet were on the verge of getting divorced after they indulged in a dispute over their business, Woodbox Cafe, which they co-owned. The report further stated that the couple got married in 2016. However, due to a major conflict in their marriage over the ownership of Woodbox Cafe, Manika and Puneet decided to file for divorce.
Amidst the divorce proceedings, Puneet Khurana's in-laws and wife, Manika Pahwa had a severe argument over a series of topics. However, as per early investigation, an audio clip was recovered from the police in which the couple could be seen talking to each other. In the audio clip, the woman asserts that she remains his business partner and tells him to settle the dues. After Puneet's death, his parents and brother-in-law filed a police complaint against Manika Pahwa and her family for abetment of suicide.
Another major update in Puneet Khurana's suicide case is that he recorded a 59-minute video before his demise in which he clearly shared that the reason behind his decision to commit suicide is related to his marriage and not business. The late businessman's family has also accused Manika Pahwa and her family of allegedly pressurising their son for money. The parents have requested the police to explore this angle in their investigation.
Days before Puneet Khurana's suicide, Manika Pahwa dropped a lengthy post on Instagram in which she shared her views on 'toxicity and narcissistic' abuse. Although she didn't write any name, the netizens are quick to join the dots now that Puneet is no longer with us. In her IG post, Manika claimed that she suffered a lot but continued fighting against the odds. The IG post is doing rounds on the internet and has divided the internet once again.
