Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making it to the headlines constantly for their startling statements about their life in the royal palace, how Meghan was suicidal, how the Royal family treated her and addressing the reports about her misconduct with the royals and their staff. The statement issued by the Buckingham Palace on behalf of the queen can be read as "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members."
In the interview with Oprah, Meghan had accused the royal family of "perpetuating falsehoods" about the couple. When Oprah had asked Meghan, "How do you feel about the Palace hearing you speak your truth today?" in regards to her relationship with the royal family, she had replied, "I don't know how they could expect that after all of this time, we would still just be silent if there is an active role that the firm is playing in perpetuating falsehoods about us. And if that comes with the risk of losing things, I mean -- there's a lot that has been lost already."
Meghan had also alleged that her son, Archie was denied the title of a prince before he was born because of racism. Meghan had told Oprah that the royals had a discussion with Harry before their son, Archie's birth and he was denied the Prince title because they were concerned about how dark his skin colour might be. She had said, “They didn’t want him to be a prince.” She had further added how there were “conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” (Don't Miss: Soha Ali Khan Gives Inaaya Naumi Kemmu A Tour Of The Fields Of Her Ancestral Pataudi Palace)

The former actress had also revealed that she was silenced by ‘The Firm’. Meghan had accused the British Royal family of racism, lying and cornering her to the extent that she had become suicidal. Meghan's mother is black and father is white and she had shared that she was naive before she had married into the Royal family in 2018. She had revealed how she had suicidal thoughts and how her husband, Harry had helped her out. She had said, “I just didn’t want to be alive any more. And that was a very clear and real and frightening constant thought. And I remember how he (Harry) just cradled me.”
It was in 2020 when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had stepped down from their royal titles and an official statement from the Palace had stated, "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family. While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family."
