The Ambani clan hosted a lavish three-day-long pre-wedding soiree to commemorate the union of their youngest son, Anant Ambani, with the love of his life, Radhika Merchant. On the first night of the bash, the clan hosted a cocktail night, and global star, Rihanna performed for the guests. On the same night, Anant and Radhika took centre stage and professed their love for each other in front of everyone, and it simply wooed everyone's heart. Especially Radhika's speech bowled us over as she beautifully summarised the significance of marriage and companionship in one's life.
The Ambanis are big fans of culture, heritage, and all things entertainment, and the proof of the same has yet again been established by their soon-to-be-bahu, Radhika Merchant. The businesswoman wooed everyone with her heartfelt speech for her soon-to-be-husband, Anant Ambani, on their cocktail night and magnificently summarised the concept of companionship and marriage amid the sea of guests. Now, it has come to our notice that the speech was inspired by the 2004 Hollywood film, Shall We Dance starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, and Jennifer Lopez in pivotal roles.

In the movie, Susan Sarandon's character, 'Beverly Clark' delivers a monologue for Richard Jenkins about the importance of companionship in one's life. Taking inspiration from the same Radhika Merchant, she dedicated the same dialogue to the man of her life, Anant. Radhika's speech stated:
"Someone once told me, 'When you find a companion, what do you really gain? What you truly gain becomes a witness to your life.' There are more than a billion people on this earth, and what does life really mean? But when someone promises to care for you through everything, whether it's good, bad, beautiful, brave, sad, or mundane..."
Susan Sarandon's 'witness to life' monologue for Richard Jenkins was stated when the latter questioned her why she wanted to be married. The monologue read as:
"We need a witness to our lives. There are 8 billion people on the planet … I mean, what does anyone life really mean? But in a marriage, you're promising to care about everything — the good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things … all of it, all the time, every day. You're saying, 'Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness.'"
