Radhikka Madan Shares Her Opinion On Being Compared To Legendary Sridevi: 'Not Taking It Seriously'

Radhikka Madan started her career in showbiz with the popular TV serial, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi. However, she did not limit herself to the small screen and ventured into cinemas in 2018 with the film, Patakha. More recently, the 29-year-old was seen opposite Akshay Kumar in the biographical drama, Sarfira. While the film failed to do well at the box office, Radhikka was appreciated for her role in it.

Radhikka Madan talks about the overwhelming response to Sarfira

Recently, Radhikka sat for an interview with India Today and spoke at length about her professional feats. She also shared her opinion on being compared with the legendary Sridevi. During the conversation, the actress talked about the overwhelming response to her latest release, Sarfira. Revealing that she has been receiving a lot of love, Radhikka expressed:

“Oh! I am extremely overwhelmed by the response to 'Sarfira.' I feel so grateful. Just receiving a lot of love, it's nice. It feels great. I thought, like with every character that you play, you put in a lot of hard work, and then you just forget about it.”

Radhikka Madan opens up about being compared to the legendary Sridevi

Radhikka also opened up about her feelings about being compared to the late actress, Sridevi after her impressive stint in Sarfira. The latter, known for her tremendous versatility and ability to bring any role to life, continues to inspire many new-age actresses. Radhikka, however, perceives these analogies with humility and honour. She said:

"It's a big one. I don't want to believe this, but they said that 'I reminded them of Sridevi,' which was a big deal for me. I don't think I can ever come close to her. I'm not taking it seriously at all. I'm like, great, good, made my night, that is it. I can't ever be her."

Radhikka Madan shares her opinion on Sarfira’s business at the box office

Sudha Kongara Prasad’s directorial, Sarfira, is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film, Soorarai Pottru, which was led by Suriya. In the 2024 film, Radhikka plays the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife, ‘Rani Mhatre’. Speaking about the film’s business in the same interview, the actress mentioned:

“I don't take it seriously. See, I don't take failures also to my heart. I'm pretty neutral, and I try to stay neutral. If a film fails, or I'm not appreciated that much, I ask myself this question 'Did I give my all?' If the answer is yes, I'm like, great, let's move on. And the same thing happens when I'm getting the love.”

When Radhikka Madan spoke about the huge gap between her and Akshay Kumar

Earlier, in another interview with India Today, the 29-year-old actress spoke about the huge age gap between her and Akshay Kumar, who portrays the role of her husband and protagonist, ‘Veer Mhatre,’ in Sarfira. She said that once their film hit the theatres, people forgot about this issue and instead enjoyed their “cracking, intense, and lovely chemistry.”
