Rajat Sharma is renowned for never being caught in any major controversy. However, the record was broken in June 2024, when Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak accused him of allegedly abusing her on national television. Yes! You read it right. Before we get into the details of Ragini Nayak and Rajat Sharma's fight, let's take a quick look at the former's background and personal life.
Ragini Nayak is a well-known personality in Indian politics. She is the national spokesperson of the Indian National Congress (INC) and the convenor of the foreign affairs department of the Indian National Congress. Ragini's association with the Congress Party goes back many years, as she is the ex-national general secretary of NSUI. Ragini also served as the president of DUSU at the time.

On June 10, 2024, Ragini Nayak took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle and posted two videos in which he can be seen attending a debate session on Rajat Sharma's channel, India TV. In her tweet, Ragini revealed that she came across a video on social media in which it was claimed that Rajat Sharma abused her on national television during their debate. The Congress spokesperson, Ragini Nayak, shared that she checked the debate's raw footage in order to verify the claim. After watching the raw video and comparing both videos, Ragini was convinced that Rajat Sharma abused her on national television.

The tweet went live at 11:06 PM, and within minutes, it was all over the internet. The video divided the netizens into two camps, while one side was on Ragini's side, the other side stated that Rajat Sharma said, "Kya behes karu". While the netizens were fighting on the internet, Ragini posted two pictures on her Twitter handle that took the controversy to a whole new level.
On June 11, 2024, Ragini Nayak took to her X handle and shared that India TV's chairman and news anchor, Rajat Sharma and his legal team had threatened her. The Congress spokesperson stated that Rajat Sharma tried silencing her by warning her of a defamation suit.
However, Ragini added that she is walking on Mahatma Gandhi's path and is not afraid of Rajat Sharma and his legal team. In the same tweet, she also revealed that she had filed a criminal complaint against Rajat Sharma at Tughtak Road police station, Delhi, under sections 294 and 509 of the IPC. She posted the pictures of the criminal complaint she filed against Rajat Sharma.

Ragini Nayak's tweet about Rajat Sharma threatening her brought a lot of support to the Congress spokesperson, as people started getting furious on the internet. The matter became a trending topic for news headlines, after which Ragini held a press conference with Congress leaders, at which she talked about it once again.
The Congress spokesperson revealed that her parents, in-laws, and children had seen the video in which Rajat Sharma was abusing her, and it caused her immense distress.

On one side, while Ragini Nayak has posted a series of tweets and even conducted a press conference regarding the controversy, on the other side, Rajat Sharma has maintained his silence over the matter so far. However, India TV's legal head, Ritika Talwar penned a long note to the channel's official X handle. In the tweet, Ritika warned Ragini, Congress spokesperson, Pawan Khera and Jairam Ramesh for falsely accusing Rajat Sharma.
In her fiery response, India TV's legal head clearly stated that if they continue to make baseless allegations against Rajat Sharma in public, they will take strong action against them. It will be interesting to see how Congress spokesperson, Ragini Nayak responds and whether she will take this matter to another level. People are also eager to see an explosive response from India TV's chairman, Rajat Sharma regarding this controversy, as it has grown way out of proportion.
