Whenever a high-profile personality comes to court for trial, media and news agencies quench the thirst of the masses by reporting every little detail about the court proceedings. And meanwhile, celebrities often find themselves guilty in the eyes of the media and the world, even before the court could announce its verdict. The media trials trend has tarnished the image of many popular celebrities, including Shilpa Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra.
Raj has been making headlines ever since he was arrested for being the prime suspect in the creation and distribution of pornographic content online. But this was not the first time Raj had to rush to the judiciary for justice. Like many of us, he had started small and went on to become a successful businessman. Then he married his favourite actress, Shilpa Shetty, on November 22, 2009. And an array of controversies followed his way. From getting banned from IPL for life for alleged betting to getting involved in a hit-and-run case, Raj had always been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

September 21, 2022, marked a year of Raj Kundra’s release from Arthur Road. He took to the micro-blogging site and shared a picture of himself wearing a mask, hoodie and sunglasses. He urged his haters to ‘shut up’ if they are unaware of the entire story. Saying how the world would soon know that he was innocent in the pornography case, Raj penned:
“One Year Today released from #ArthurRoad. Its a matter of time Justice will be served! The truth will be out soon! Thank you well wishers and a bigger thank you to the trollers you make me stronger #enquiry #word #mediatrial #trollers.”
When the news of Raj Kundra’s involvement in the pornography case did rounds on the internet in 2020, several Twitter users had dug out his old posts, which were somehow related to porn and adult jokes. In addition, many users had taken to their Twitter handles to troll Raj and reposted his old problematic posts. Check it out!

Earlier, in an interaction with a media portal, Raj was asked the reason behind hiding his face with a black mask in public. Answering this, he had said that he does not hide his face out of shame, but because of his privacy concern. Taking a jibe at media trials, he said how the news anchors have already declared him guilty. In his words:
“The trolling, negativity and toxic public perception has been very debilitating. To set the record straight, I do not hide my face in shame, but wish that my privacy is not intruded anymore with this continued MEDIA TRIAL. My priority has always been my family, nothing else matters at this juncture.”
For the unversed, Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty are blessed with two kids, Viaan Raj Kundra and Shamisha Shetty Kundra.
