Former businessman, Raj Kundra has been grabbing the spotlight for quite some time now, ever since he announced the release of his biopic titled, UT 69. Moreover, after years of hiding his face behind a mask in the public eye, Raj not only showed his face after a long while but also announced making his debut in acting with the biopic itself. And now, during the promotional press conferences for his upcoming biopic, Raj made some heartfelt revelations as he recalled how the trauma of his jail imprisonment affected his son, Viaan.
In a recent conversation with Instant Bollywood, Raj Kundra recalled his jail tenure and mentioned how during the multiple chargesheets that were registered against him in the adult film racket case, his son, Viaan suffered the most trauma. Raj mentioned that the little boy, who didn’t understand much of the complicated matters, started to get weaker. Moreover, Raj Kundra also spoke about the painful phone call he received from Viaan, while the former was still in jail. In his words:
“We got stuck in and it took 63 days to come out after chargesheets and this and that so somewhere, Viaan was getting weaker. On my birthday, when I got on a call with them, it had been about 50 days and I could hear in his voice papa when are you coming home? and that really broke me that day.”

In a previous interaction with The Indian Express, Raj Kundra had opened up about his arrest and the subsequent media coverage which took place. He expressed that it was no less than a dizzying phase for him and his family. Moreover, he added that while his daughter was too young to read stuff online, it was his then-11-year-old son, Viaan who was left perplexed, as he trusted his father and looked upto him. Sharing what his wife, Shilpa told Viaan about his father's arrest, Raj revealed:
“My daughter is too young to read stuff online, but my son is now 11… I am his hero. He trusts me, has faith in me. We tell him not to be worried, he is not on social media, so he won’t read comments. But you know friends talk… But I also know that at that age there is unity. He did ask Shilpa what happened, why, and how. She gave him an appropriate answer to give to an 11-year-old.”
In yet another of his earlier interviews with Pinkvilla, Raj spoke about his horrific experience in jail, especially the moment during his confinement, when he was stripped in front of everyone in the Arthur Road jail. He mentioned feeling humiliated as the police checked him for carrying drugs anywhere with him and added that he felt like totally losing his dignity.

In the same interview, Raj spoke about another incident during his tenure in jail and revealed listening to some really mean and nasty comments about his wife, Shilpa Shetty, by the other inmates of the jail. He added while he was sitting inside the jail, one of the inmates even said that Shilpa was looking hot while some others pointed at him. In his words:
“These things happen, when Shilpa is on TV, they're like, 'Arre she's looking damn h*t,' and somebody said, 'Arre uska pati yaha baitha hai chup kar'. So, I had to go through that. It was the class of life of the people around me, that's their understanding and thought. Unki samajh utne level tak hi hai. So, I was okay with it."
