Shilpa Shetty's husband, Raj Kundra is all over the headlines for his acting debut with his biopic, UT 69. Ever since he dropped the trailer of the film, he has been sharing some lesser-known anecdotes about his life in jail and many more. For the unversed, it was on October 18, 2023, when Raj Kundra shared the official trailer of the biopic and revealed that the film was based on his jail days. It was back in 2021, when Shilpa Shetty's husband was arrested for his alleged involvement in an adult film racket case.
In a candid conversation with Pinkvilla, Raj Kundra opened up about his experience in jail. Talking about the same, he recalled the humiliations that he faced during his confinement in the Arthur Road jail. Shilpa Shetty's husband revealed that he was stripped in front of everyone inside the jail, and that left him disheartened. Elaborating more on it, Raj Kundra said:
"It is humiliating because wo nanga hi kar dete hain apko. Checking if you are carrying any narcotics in your back side, they will strip you down in front of everyone so you feel like you have lost all your dignity when that happens. You feel like you have gone through so much already ab yahan pe bhi nanga kar rahe hain. Media to nanga kar hi rahi thi mujhe upar se ye bhi ho gaya so I felt very disheartened and hurt."

Further, in the same conversation, Raj also opened up about how he dealt with the separation rumours with his wife, Shilpa Shetty. Talking about the same, he revealed that when he was inside the jail, he felt like the entire world was against him and attacking him. However, it was this one line of his wife, Shilpa that comforted him. Elaborating more about it, Raj said:
"She just said one line to me and I always remember that, like I said I was borderline atheist but she was a big Sai believer. She said, Raj, have faith inside. Shraddha Saburi."
Earlier, in an interview with the Indian Express, Raj opened up about the humiliation he faced post getting arrested in the pornography case. Talking about the same, he revealed that his wife, Shilpa was his pillar of support during that time. Raj added that Shilpa even suggested him about moving abroad, however, he was adamant about not leaving the country.

In one of his previous interactions with News18, Raj Kundra opened up about his biopic, Ut 69. Talking about the same, he shared his wife, Shilpa's first reaction on his idea of doing a biopic on his experiences during his jail sentence in 2021. Raj stated that initially, Shilpa was unsure and apprehensive about the decision. However, after listening to the script, she agreed to it.
