Raj Kundra is currently garnering all the attention due to the buzz about his upcoming biopic titled, UT 69, which captured his experiences during his jail sentence. For the unversed, back in 2021, Raj was embroiled in an adult film racket case, due to which he was sentenced to spend 63 days of imprisonment in Arthur Road Jail. And now, the biopic will mark Raj’s debut in acting, and he recently made an appearance for the trailer launch of the same.
Raj Kundra shed off his infamous masked look and revealed his face yet again, at the trailer launch event of his upcoming debut biopic, UT 69. During the same, the actor made several revelations about why he chose to make such a film in the first place, that would also mark his silver screen debut as an actor. He mentioned how one of his friends approached him to document his jail sentence, based on the frequent diary notes that he used to write back then. Adding how his notes for the script of the film also included several letters that were exchanged between him and his wifey, Shilpa, Raj mentioned:
“I said pura I am not gonna go through. Yeh mere notes hai, aap padh lo. Aur saath mein letters bhi the – jo shilpa mujhe likha karti thi aur main unko. He came back after 3–40 days and said humne poori film bana di.”

During the same event, Raj answered several media and press questions about his biopic. However, amidst it all, the former businessman politely requested everyone and reminded them not to drag his wife, Shilpa and his kids, Viaan and Samisha into all the matters pertaining to his biopic or story of his jail sentence. In his words:
“Mujhe bolo jo bolna hai yaar, meri biwi aur bacche pe maat jaao yaar."

In a previous interview with News18, Raj Kundra spoke about his wife, Shilpa’s reaction to his idea of his biopic and, in fact, debut in a film. Raj revealed that at first, his wifey was sceptical about the idea of him making a film on his jail stay. He recalled speaking to Shilpa about the same, and hilariously added how flying chappal came at his face in response. But later, when the filmmaker of the biopic, Shahnawaz Ali narrated the story to Shilpa, she gave it a thought and supported it throughout.
