Many lead actors have been thrown out of Rajan Shahi's show. The latest is actress Alisha Parveen, who had a shocking and unexpected exit from Rupali Ganguly's show, Anupamaa. Her exit did tout controversy as she was replaced overnight. Alisha expressed her disappointment as she was not aware of her removal, and fans became curious about the treatment of actors in the TV world. Now, in a recent interview with Telly Times, Rajan Shahi has addressed removing lead actors from his show, stating justifications that did not gel well with social media users. They feel that it is a clear-cut PR strategy game, as he has addressed the issue.
Rajan Shahi did not directly take the name of any actor, but confessed of removing lead actors. He even said that he even had removed the 4th lead star from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. He claimed that their disrespectful behaviour towards the hairdresser, spot dada, makeup man and associate director was unacceptable. He even confessed of removing an actor recently from his show, Anupamaa. Now, social media users slammed the producer and called it a PR gimmick. One user wrote:
"Just a PR stunt to improve his image. Salute to his PR team. They think audience is very innocent to buy that. Maybe the audience is, thats why continuing his serials. Otherwise people would have boycotted them."
A third social media user said, "Is he a crybaby or something? Bhyi itni purani baat hain yhe aur abh kyu bol raha hai iske bare Mai? Tabh kyun nahin boli yhe baat! Always trying to play victim card." Actor, Arijit Taneja along with the other social media users commented on how TV actors were mistreated. The actor wrote, "That’s one side of the story. And howcome all the actors are wrong and he is a saint ? Because actors are an easy target and this guy is GOD!" A third user wrote:
"What's the problem with this old man now? Now they don't want to work with you, if everyone gets fired then who will come to work with you All those whom you have removed deserve a better show than your so called show. Now everyone has seen the dark face of Rajan Shahi He himself is unprofessional and calls the young actress unprofessional."
Rajan did not explain the reason for removing Alisha from Anupamaa. However, social media users felt that he had always disrespected the actors and that the rules were one-sided. They also felt that Rajan Shahi did not get publicity, so he got out of the topic of removing lead actors from his show. Fans of Alisha want clarity and have provided support to the actress. However, Rajan kept his stand clear and asserted that he has always been professional with his crew members and gives them due respect.

Before Alisha Parveen, Paras Kalnawat, who was seen in Anupamaa in the serial, was also removed. A report by the Screen mentioned that Rajan Shahi had loved Paras' acting but was replaced by Sagar Parekh who then played the role of 'Samar Shah'. Paras wanted his track to be extended but was upset with the decision.
