Rajesh Khanna is a name that will always be remembered in the glorious history of Bollywood. Also known as the industry's first superstar, his popularity surpassed all records. He gave back-to-back hits in the late 60s and early 70s during the peak of his career. However, later, his career spiralled down, and his marriage with actress, Dimple Kapadia crumpled with time. After experiencing the best and worst of stardom, the actor once recalled in an old interview what advice he gave to daughter, Twinkle Khanna before she stepped into the acting world.
Rajesh Khanna spent his days away from the camera after the decline in his career. But, he came before the media when his daughter, Twinkle Khanna, made her acting debut in 1995. He sat down for an interview with Lehren Retro's YouTube channel and revealed what he said to Twinkle as they posed for the paps. He recalled saying to her:

Rajesh Khanna shared that Twinkle would often ask him for his advice as she was preparing to step into Bollywood. Rajesh Khanna shared that he used to tell her that there was no godfather in the industry and she would have to find her way into it. He added that she should not ask her mother, Dimple Kapadia, for advice because it would confuse her. For the unversed, Dimple left the industry after getting married to Rajesh Khanna but resumed work after they separated. In his words:
"She (Twinkle) often asks me for advice, and I tell her that I had no godfather in the industry when I started out, and that she must find her own way as well. I told her not to seek advice from her mother as well, because if she asks her mother for advice, she'll only get more confused."
Twinkle Khanna made her acting debut in Barsaat in 1995. However, her career was short-lived in the industry. Twinkle began her career in writing and has been successful in it. During one of her book launch events in 2018, the actress critiqued her acting career and said her films should be banned and no one must see it. She was quoted as saying:
"I have not given any hit films. Whatever films I have done should be banned and (no one should watch) it. Most of the time, I pretend I have alzheimer's and I don't remember my film career and it makes me happy that ways."
