Rajkummar Rao is amongst the most talented actors in Bollywood. He made his debut with the film, Love Sex Aur Dhokha, and since then, keeps winning millions of hearts with his versatile acting onscreen. On the work front, he will be next seen in the biographical film, Srikanth, based on the life story of the same named visually impaired entrepreneur. The film is all set to hit the theatres on May 10, 2024, and beside him, it will star Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar in prominent roles.
Ahead of the film's release, in an interview with Mashable, Rajkummar Rao opened up about a piece of advice that Shah Rukh Khan once gave him. Rajkummar shared how Bollywood's Badshah taught him never to settle for less when it comes to buying a house. Revealing how Shah Rukh explained to him that once he does something like that, it will automatically help him work harder. And in this way, he built his dream house in Mumbai, and shared:
“Shah Rukh sir had taught me one thing ‘Beta kabhi bhi ghar lega na, toh aukaat se thoda zyaada lena. Kyunki phir na, upar wala bhi dekhta hai aur tu khud bhi zyada mehnat karega.’ I found this very fascinating. Having a home in the city is of course a dream and we have built it lovingly, me and Patralekhaa.”

Shah Rukh Khan's this piece of advice became Rajkummar Rao’s inspiration behind buying his Mr and Mrs Mahi co-star, Janhvi Kapoor’s lavish property worth Rs. 44 crore. As per multiple reports, the property, which now belongs to Rajkummar, reportedly spans 3456 square feet. The actor purchased the property in 2020, and decorated it with the help of his wife, Patralekhaa. We often get sneak peeks into the same, with the duo's social media posts.
Rajkummar Rao seems to be a big fan of Shah Rukh Khan and keeps talking about the latter's influence in his life. Earlier, in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Rajkummar heaped praise on Shah Rukh and mentioned how he was fascinated by the treatment given by the latter to each person he met. Elaborating more on it, Rajkummar said:
“There’s a lot to learn from [Shah Rukh Khan]. Shah Rukh sir, the way he treats you, the way he gives you so much of respect. His whole attention is on you. He’s present, that’s a great quality. Just to listen to someone. At every party, he would go down three floors, come to your car, open the door for you, make you sit and say bye to you till you are out of his sight.”

Shah Rukh Khan's love and dedication towards his abode, Mannat is known to all. And the actor's journey from being a commoner to finally purchasing his dream home, is indeed inspirational. A few months back, when he graced his wife, Gauri Khan’s coffee-table book, My Life In Design's launch, he opened up how he manifested his dream home that was beyond his means. Shah Rukh mentioned that after purchasing it, he and Gauri also ran out of money thus his misses had to design the entire house. He said:
“When we bought Mannat, it was way beyond our means, and once we were done buying the house, we didn’t have money to decorate it. We hired a designer, only to realise we couldn’t afford him.”
