Marrying your best friend is the best feeling ever. After dating each other for a decade, B-town's lovebirds, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa Paul, had finally decided to take the plunge and get married. For the unversed, the couple had tied the knot on November 15, 2021.
Rajkummar and Patralekhaa had a destination wedding in Chandigarh, and it was everything dreamy. From their varmala to their phera to their sindoor moment, it was as magical as one would dream of. They had taken to their respective IG handles and had shared the news to the world with a beautiful series of pictures and a caption that could be read as:
"Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship, and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa. Here's to forever..and beyond."

Amidst the wedding rituals, what had caught our attention was when Rajkummar Rao had asked Patralekhaa Paul to put sindoor on him as well. He had said in their wedding video, 'Tum bhi laga do', and it had garnered lots of love from the netizens. While talking about the same in an interview with India Today, the actor revealed why he had asked his wife, Patralekhaa, to apply sindoor on him. He said:
"There was no thought I was like 'wo bhi laga sakti hai kyui nahi', she can also say, 'tum mere ho'. I don't know the history or reason behind the sindoor and everything, I just thought she can also put why not."
In an interview with ETimes, Rajkummar Rao had opened up about the impact of his marriage on his life and how his then-girlfriend, now-wife, Patralekhaa Paul, had changed his outlook towards everything. Heaping immense love and admiration for his wife, the doting husband had said:

"It's a beautiful feeling. I am so elated to be married to Patralekhaa. She is my best friend, the love of my life, my family and my everything. Something changes on a subconscious level. I feel more complete now."

Going further in the interview, Rajkummar Rao was also asked to reveal the one prime reason that had convinced him to take the plunge finally in 2021, after all these years of courtship. Answering this, the actor had credited lockdowns and had stated that after spending so much time together in those scary moments, they were convinced that they could live together for the rest of their lives. Rajkummar had said:
"As you rightly said, we have been living in for a while now. I would always be out shooting, and she would be out for her shoots. The last two years, which included the lockdowns, was the time we could spend with each other. At that point, we thought that when we are so sure of spending the rest of our lives together, let's just do this."
