Hrithik Roshan is one of the greatest superstars of Hindi cinema. The 'Greek God' leaves no stone unturned in impressing fans with his jaw-dropping acting and dancing moves. The actor proved his mettle in his movies Kaho Na...Pyaar Hai, War, Krrish, and Dhoom 2, to name a few. However, do you know that the actor battled stammering? Hrithik's father, Rakesh Roshan, recently shared how his son had locked himself in the bathroom because of his stuttering.
Rakesh, recently in an interview with the ANI, shared how Hrithik had locked himself in the bathroom because he found it difficult to say, "Thank you, Dubai". Rakesh shared that his son was always highly educated, and intelligent but used to always hold himself back because of his stammering problem. Rakesh said:
"I used to feel bad that he had so much to say, yet he would hesitate because of his stuttering. He would get stuck on ‘D’. He locked himself in the bathroom to learn that sentence. He worked so hard on himself. Now he doesn’t stutter for the last 10-12 years."
Rakesh, going ahead in the interview, revealed how Hrithik was always determined to improve his stuttering issue. He shared that the actor would invest an hour every morning in reading English, Hindi, and Urdu newspapers to learn about fluency. Hrithik had earlier addressed his issues with stammering, while Rakesh shared that for the past 10-12 years, Hrithik was able to speak without having the problem of stammering.
Earlier, in an interview with the Indian Express. Hrithik shared that he sometimes felt that life was unfair. This was because in school he had such a bad stammer that he could not speak. School days were very painful and on top of that, doctors told him that he could never become an actor. He was so broken, that for months he would think of it like a lucid dream. Hrithik had shared:
"I never had any friends, or girlfriends. I was very shy, and would come back from school and just cry. There were problems with my spine, doctors said ‘you cannot dance’. I was so broken, that I would wake up for months, and would think it is a dream, a lucid dream. It was so heartbreaking and relive that feeling of knowing that I could not become an actor…I am disabled. So it was very traumatising.”
The actor on the professional front is all ready for the release of his next big film, War 2. The highly anticipated sequel of the movie would hit the theatres on August 14, 2025. Ayan Mukerji has directed the film and is a follow-up to the 2019 blockbuster movie, War, which had Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Jr NTR would also be seen opposite Hrithik in the action drama movie.
