Rakul Preet Singh and her family have been constantly hitting the headlines for one reason or another in the recent few months. The year 2024 began beautifully with Rakul, when she tied the knot with the love of her life, Jackky Bhagnani in February 2024. However, following this happy moment in her life, reports cropped up, revealing that Jackky and his father, Vashu Bhagnani's production house, had been running at a significant loss. Although Jackky and Vashu dealt with the reports sportingly, now, reports surfaced that Rakul's brother was arrested in his alleged connection to a drugs case.
As per a report by Hindustan Times, Rakul Preet Singh's brother, Aman Preet Singh, was arrested in connection to a drugs case after a joint operation took place by the Rajendra Nagar SOT Police under Cyberabad Police's jurisdiction and the Narcotics Bureau. On July 15, 2024, the Hyderabad police confirmed the Ramrajya actor, Aman's arrest during a press conference. Five individuals were arrested for a drug trade, including some Indians and Nigerians. However, Aman was among the thirteen people, who were arrested for drug consumption. As per the report, Aman was even tested positive for cocaine use.

The five accused drug peddlers are identified as Alla Satya Venkata Gowtham, Sanaboina Varun Kumar, Azeez Nohaam Adeshola, Onuoha Blessing, and Mohd Mahaboob Shareef. The police in the press conference mentioned that Aman would soon be produced before a court. However, further investigation is going on to determine Aman's connections to the drug case. The police also confirmed that some of the accused are repeat offenders, and they believe that Aman's involvement with the peddlers was merely for a year and a half. Meanwhile, the police have seized 199 grams of cocaine, two passports, two bikes and ten cell phones in connection to the case.
Back in December 2022, Rakul was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection to an alleged money laundering matter related to a 2017 Tollywood drugs case. She was even asked to appear before the agency for questioning on December 19, 2022. However, when asked about it, the police later confirmed:
"She has nothing to do with this case. We are not investigating her, and her name needn't be dragged in unnecessarily. Therefore, we will not be commenting on it."

In recent months, reports surfaced online, wherein certain social media users revealed that they still owe an unpaid amount of money from Jackky Bhagnani and his father Vashu Bhagnani's production house. This led to much controversy, and several others opened up about it. Finally, Jackky and Vashu also reacted to the same and asked everyone to be a little more patient with them as they could not clear the dues due to the losses of their recent films. In relation to this, Akshay Kumar was part of their production film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and asked them to put his salary on hold until each crew member and cast member is paid their dues.
